Haven't posted one of these in a while...

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now (even if we don't speak often or ever) please post a comment with a completely made up, fictional memory of you and me. It can be anything you want - good or bad - but it has to be fake. When you're finished, post this little paragraph in your LJ and see what your friends come up with!

It was the summer of 1863, and you were in my platoon in Lee's army, marching north from Virginia, across Maryland, to wind up at the fateful crossroads at Gettysburg. The last time I saw you, we were lined up, ready to charge with the rest of General Pickett's men during the charge that would later bear his name and be recorded as the high water mark of the confederacy, and like many others, I would not return from the attack. I hope you still think of me fondly.

I still have the scars from that knife fight you got me into over defending your honor in Bangladesh, but I’d do it all over again just to be able to eat that awesome bacon smammich we had at that bar. I couldn’t speak the local dialect, but that’s why I went with you - you could always translate for me. The camel rides were fun and the malaria really did a good job taking that extra fifteen pounds off that I’d been trying to lose. And of course, you got your two wonderful children by bartering with a local - I still can’t believe that guy sold those amazing kids to you for a Tony Orlando vinyl. Next time we go, please try to avoid getting hit on by drunken ninjas; my body will thank you for it.

My favorite memory of you is the night that we broke into the mansion down the street from you where the Bratz guy lives and set all of his wife's panties on fire and freed the monkeys that he ran mind control experiments on. Although in retrospect, I really think that if we'd left before raiding the fridge we wouldn't have been arrested. Although that also would mean that we never would have made friends with Margo the transvestite prostitute.

There was the time the Opera called us to... wait, no.

How about that time we spent, like, 20 hours crammed in your mom's bathroom... blast, no!

The time you drove 3 hours to help me pack? Damn! Nope, still a real memory.

Ah! How about the time we flew out to Maryland, about this time of year, to see the changing leaves? I really liked that little bed and breakfast we found - it was neat to have the rooms with the secret passage in between (although a little daunting that it was behind the fireplace, I got a bit singed that one time). We made s'mores and went crab-hunting on the beach (remember our matching Wellington boots? Those were such a great buy!). We talked about our husbands a lot and hoped they were ok, but it was just 4 days, so we shouldn't have worried (well, shouldn't have worried quite as much). We should do that again sometime.

I will never forget that time you visited me in the hospital (did I ever thank you for not telling what got me there?? So much appreciation for not taking advantage of that blackmail material!!) and we ran around pretending to be escapees from the psych ward! hee! It was all fun and games until you convinced that one doctor, who dragged you "back"!! (Well, at least he was cute!) ^_^
