Mitsuru awakens in her 'new home' peacefully at first, but as her eyes start to fully open and she sits upright in bed, it only takes her a short while to discover something.  This most definitely isn't her Kyoto hotel room.

And there's something of a shriek as she discover something else. She's not in bed alone.

Well to start, we're in an American town called Mayfield. The majority of the citizens have been brainwashed into thinking they have always lived here, and the ones who kidnapped us are trying to do the same with us.

[Well this is unexpected. He's so used to the drone wife that Kia nearly falls out of bed when he hears someone else next to him. He sits up, hair a mess, not caring that he's shirtless, and tries to smile harmlessly.]

Umm...welcome to Mayfield? Waking up here sorta sucks.

[ytftfyhg at this entire situation. O-oh god, she's thinking that he'd better have clothes on under that blanket...

Her tone is a mix of furious, horrified and very, very embarrassed]

Mayfield?

...W-what kind of a person drags someone from their hotel room at who knows what time, takes them to some foreign place that they've never heard of and then proceeds to get into bed with them?!

[He has boxers on, does that count? Be glad he's wearing that much since he usually doesn't.]

I didn't bring you here! I woke up here just like you did.

[Okay, okay, giving you the benefit of the doubt here.]

...Then why have we been placed in the same bed?

"No, this is not Japan. This is.... Something odd. They say its America."

It certainly looks like America, albeit a very outdated one.

Who am I speaking to? And who is 'they'?

"Hoshino Ruri. I'm not sure who they are exactly, I have yet to meet the people who are responsible for this place. I'm still working on getting that information."

I take it that whoever's in charge is not somebody that can just be negotiated with...

And there's no way to leave?

Mm. I've bee informed that this is supposed to be 1950's America.

You are Japanese too then I take it? There seems to be quite a few of us here.

If I remember my 1950's American history, it's not that much different from where I'm from in Japan.

I've heard there are a lot of us here, Japan is here too but I've never met him.

[Which one?]

I am unsure as to what you mean by that. But as I said, my name is Kirijo Mitsuru and I am from Iwatodai.

Who am I speaking to?
