Becky, people do go through worse, but that does not mean you shouldn't be depressed. You worry about your own problems; comparing your life to another is like throwing away the couple bites of food your couldn't stomach and being told "Some starving child in Africa would be grateful for those scraps." It's not related. You live your life and are around your family; it does nobody good to compare negatively ( ... )

I just wanted you to know that even though I don't know what to say I'm still listening, if that's not what you need I'm sorry, I just really don't know what to say and don't want to say anything that makes it worse or that makes you withdraw. Just please don't worry about talking about stuff here, or at least try not to let that worry stop you from posting. We're on your side here, and I don't think you're pitiful.

Don't know if this is of any interest, but...

Seeing a psychologist or a shrink rarely helps. After the first few I was very frustrated. Group therapy worked really well for me, the dynamic is much healthier (only way I can describe it). Alot more supportive. Normally you look into around a year of it. It looks exactly like on TV.

There is also something like Hellinger family constellations. It's very interesting as it uncovers traits that run in your family's history (i.e. suicide). Because, funny enough you not only get genes from your parents.
