If they had the majority in the senate, noone would be discussing this. Guess which party holds the balance of power? Fred Nile and his retarded Family First. Having a clean feed was one of their big goals, and just like all their other ideas is fundamentally retarded. Unfortunately Labor has to give them what they want so they can count on their help to pass all the legislation they promised during the election ( ... )

Actually if it goes to legislature it's a lot less likely, since Xenophon would require online gambling tacked to it, and Family First would probably tack some kind of porn provision onto it. It makes it nearly impossible to pass if the opposition don't go with it, since Labour would then need the five Greens as well.

Never mind the trials they did with possible filters last month that were abysmal at best - off the top of my head the most accurate one still had a 3% false positive rate while slowing traffic EIGHTY PERCENT.

Just so you don't think I'm getting au fait with politics or anything, I'm basically just reading straight from this: http://defendingscoundrels.com/2008/10/can-labor-implement-clean-feed.html It's been fun to have in RSS over this whoel debacle.

Was this is a reply to my reply? I'm having trouble tracing the thought pattern here.

Though, reading that article reaffirms my complacency on this issue. I don't know whether it's a completely blind faith, but I really did not see something this retarded passing in the senate when noone holds a clear majority. Which is a very good thing *cough*WorkChoices*cough*

Off topic; is it just me, or are people in general much more mentally impaired in recent times? Or is this just me finally shaking off my childish naiveté?
