Books...

So, I haven't read a book that is unrelated to my dissertation in way to long! I have big plans to work on my dissertation over the summer and that will continue but I also have big plans to do some much needed pleasure reading. But, I don't know where to start so I am going to do some research and my first step is to ask an important question -

I'm not sure what genre you're looking for but here's some I've read recently and thoroughly enjoyed:

Name of the Wind - Patrick Rothfuss - "High Fantasy" - One of the best fantasy books I've read in a really long time.

Green Rider - Kristen Britain - Also fantasy - one of my favorites.

Unshapely Things - Mark del Franco - Part dark fantasy/Part mystery - a fun romp. There are currently 3 books in the series.

Bitten - Kelley Armstrong - Shapeshifter fantasy. There are more books in the series, but I've only read the one - it is a great stand alone.

Prince of Beverly Hills - Mystery set in Hollywood's Golden Age.

Those are some of my current faves.
