Vet Help ASAP

A friend of mine has a sick dog (Parvo) and it needs to be hospitalized. He can't afford the $3,500 up front the vet is asking for but is willing to do payment plans. None of the vets he's called are willing to do it ( Read more... )

Thanks for the help. I guess he applied for care credit but was denied. That's part of the problem. Running out of options it seems

There's one about an hour away but they need 1/2 payment up front and the other 1/2 when discharged...so while that might help a bit, it won't really work. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Because the dog needs to be hospitalized, I doubt this will help, but my vet is inexpensive and tries to do the least invasive, most affordable procedure possible. It's called Little Friends of Ferndale. $24.50 for a visit (flat - no tax). When other vets wanted to surgically fix my kitty's urinary tract blockage, she tried antibiotics first and cured him for $30 instead of $1000. She never berates me for not wanting to/being able to spend a ton on my cat.

(This is good for future reference -- far from you, but they do such good work and it saves a ton of money, it's worth the trip.)

maybe the spca can do something? they often have better payment options.
