I'd have bet the turn to see where he's at.

Though when you hit the nut flush, and there's only 3 hands that can beat you which are all pretty improbable, you've still got odds to keep betting all the way down until somebody is all-in.

I wanted to induce some action, and was planning on a check raise. I think betting out is better in retrospect, as well.

checkraises are typically going to come up short when looking for max extraction. It sets them up to either rape you on the next bet, or to fold... neither of which are good if you're assuming that you're way ahead and going to kick them in the nuts really hard.

I'd have definitely led out again if you were looking to induce action. He's not going to stone-cold bluff there with a heart flush and an ace on the board knowing that you raised substantially preflop.

Still, this is one of those disaster hands where no matter how you play it, you aren't going to lay down, and you'll probably end up with all of your chips in the middle of the table.

I don't understand your preflop raise. It's awesome that you hit your flush, but it seems like you are really over-valuing your hand there. You are out of position going for only a flush or 2 pair. It's awesome that you hit your flush, but on a vast majority of flops you are going to be in check/fold mode, and I am not a big fan of raising hands where you will normally have to check fold.

Not sure you realistically could have avoided losing your shirt there, I think your post flop play was fine. I also would have bet out the turn, but not to see where he is at. That turn will get raised by a singleton Jack or a boat.

That said I think you gained the river folding information by checking. For him to check that turn then raise big but not all in gives away his boat. That said, I think I would have also shoved in the $50 NL game.

You dont raise Axs against a limping button and SB in the BB? I think you clearly have the best hand at that point.
