So this week has finally come to a close. It was been very stressful. At the end of August I was unofficially told that my position was being consolidated. A few weeks later a System Analsyt job was posted. The responsibilities included much of my current postion along with that of others. I, of course bid on the job. So the last couple of days I have been in court. In August I received a notice that I was to report for Jury duty for this week. So I reported and I was selected for a criminal case. A man was accused of possession of heroin with the intent to distribute. It was pretty interesting and the trial itself only lasted one day. I was juror number 13 out ( Read more... )

On Saturday we went to the Indian Larry Block party in Brooklyn. I had been wanting to go the last 2 years but never made it. So Fran and I went this year. The neighborhood it's in is a little bit creapy and the party itself is kind of weird. There were cops, firemen, Hells Angels, celebrities, and bike builders there. We could smell pot. I live about 45 miles west of New York City. I'm closer to PA than I am to New York. But tonight when I looked to the East I could see a faint light in the distance shining up to the sky. On this day there is a lot of emotion in my family. I can remember the details of 5 years ago like it was yesterday. Going down to the cafeteria at work and watching the towers burning on TV. Then rushing to my parent's house. On the way I heard on the radio that one of the towers had fallen. Seeing my mother and my sisters in the driveway crying. ( Read more... )
