[Knuckles' thinks he might have heard that voice before, but he can't quite remember where.]

I'm Knuckles. Where's the Professor?

[Don knows he's heard that name before. Little red guy, very inquisitive.]

He isn't really talking to anyone today. If you want to wait a few minutes I'll see if I can get him on.

He isn't? [Now Knuckles sounds a little worried.] I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

[Wait...now he remembers that voice, it's the turtle from the woods.]

I'd appreciate it if you tried. Thanks...Donatello wasn't it?

[Putting down the journal now and looking for Robert.]

[Waits...somewhat patiently, while the turtle goes professor hunting.]

[Said professor won't be too hard to find. He's currently sitting on the same couch he was on earlier with Don, staring off into the middle distance. He doesn't look quite as abjectly miserable as he did before, but he's still very obviously upset by the events of yesterday.

His journal's ringing went completely unnoticed, it seems.]

[Today Don has learned why his staring-into-space habit is so disturbing to his brothers. He doesn't like seeing Robert this way any more than he did when he first came in. Still, he doesn't want to rouse Robert from his thoughts, if that place is more comforting for him right now than reality.]

[He shakes Robert's knee very gently, and calls his name.]

Someone is looking for you on the journals. Do you want to talk to Knuckles?

*weeps*

[It probably isn't, considering the way Robert's shoulders shake occasionally. But it's... safer than reality, in some respects.

Still, Don's voice breaks through this reverie very easily, and he turns his head to look up at the turtle.]

... Knuckles...? [Softly:] H-He... he helped to rescue me...

... a-alright. [Robert exhales shakily and leans back against the couch a little bit.]

[Don hands Robert the journal, and settles into the other end of the couch. He'll just be eavesdropping providing moral support.]

[Robert takes the journal from Don's hands and looks almost blearily down at it.]

... S-Salutations, Knuckles... [His tired, broken voice gives away more about his condition than anything else.]

You...don't sound too good.

That... w-would be an understatement, at the moment.

[Robert inhales. It's shaky.

After a moment he presses a hand to his forehead.]

... Th-thank you. For... for helping me.

I appreciate... y-your assistance. [You stopped me from dying.]

[There's a pause before Knuckles switches it from Voice to Video]

You don't have to thank me. I couldn't stand there and watch you get attacked.

I'm just sorry I didn't get there sooner.

[The video setting shows just how dishevelled Robert is; he obviously hasn't washed himself properly, and still probably has yet to clean the flecks of blood off his lab coat.]

It... it is not your f-fault.

... That... barbaric attack was... b-beyond anything rational.
