[Sailor Mercury, to go by the picture window, is the one who responds.]

You already understand a little of what exists in my world. Here, I also use magic from Nala.

[Fitting, for the doctor-goddess.]

[It would make sense to him... well, as much sense as magic ever usually makes.]

... How does... it w-work for you, Doctor Mizuno...?

[He's mostly curious to know if other people also experience these strange, anomalous feelings.]

... It seems so... strange, though. All this... m-magic.

In this form, please call me Sailor Mercury. [It's not the most important worry; but habit makes her keep them separate. She goes on, gently.]

Stop, just for a moment. Think about your heartbeat.

It's like that. It's something always there inside you. It's something you know innately. It's in your will, and your heart.

[This almost surprises Robert to hear - he'd known that Link knew magic, yes, but the sheer amount of it is new...

Still, this puts him in a unique position to answer questions.]

... Do... do you also experience strange... mental anomalies when using magic, Link? ... And are the Filial magic spells and your own worlds' spells similar, in... h-how they are utilized?

[James finds himself both concerned and curious.]

Hey Robert, Sorry for your loss. Which sounds weird, since she's not dead annnd I'm going to stop before I say something horrible insensitive. ..More insensitive.

[James winces. Sometimes he has all the tact of a brick to the head. His curiosity is strong though. James hesitates for moment before asking the question he's thinking since the whole second thing.]

Uhm, not to be completely insensitive, but Who is Nala, and what do you mean Magic?

[James world doesn't have Magic, just creepy physics and ALIENS>]

[That's okay, though. Robert has about the same amount of tact.

But he'll deal with the first topic later. Right now, he's still overwhelmed by the fact he - a completely non-magical person - can hear Filial spirits.]

... N-Nala is... one of the Filial Spirits of... L-Luceti.

... I... I know they essentially are... r-responsible for the usage of magic, but... [Awkwardly:] I... I thought I would be... unable to utilize it.

... Clearly there is something... m-more to this, than I am aware of...

[Most of the time his tact is much better. But sometimes it just flies out the window.

Well isn't that interesting.]

Filial spirits?

So wait, there is actually Magic at work here and not just screwed up science? [Even after going through an event, James hadn't though to think of it as MAGIC. Just science he didn't understand.

Congrats Robert! You just shattered a world view!]

[Robert might be surprised to find Leo leaning on the door frame to his room, his carapace to the door frame. His arms are crossed over his plastron. His head down and eyes closed. He could almost look like he fell asleep standing up. Almost.]

Finally heard one, huh? [But nope, he's wide awake. It's hard to tell how long he's been there.]

[Robert almost jumps at Leo's sudden voice from behind him - that was completely unexpected.

It's one of those times that he's reminded, poignantly, of the fact he lives with highly-capable, trained ninja.]

... Ah...

... Yes. I... I did.

[Awkwardly:] ... I hardly... b-believe it, myself...

[He opens his eyes and pushes off the frame, walking toward Robert.]

It's quite the experience, yes. What they teach can be useful.

Is magic so unusual in your world then and that is why none will believe you?

[Leonhardt actually finds that interesting, because there was definitely a time where that would have been true in his own world since arts were definitely not around 50 years ago, even if their existence could be traced back to ancient times. Oh well, at least this might alleviate boredom, even if Robert seems like he might be a tough one to speak with.]

[... A stranger? Robert... is kind of glad to have outside input, and in a way the question doesn't surprise him. He's known for a long time that his world is odd, being one that doesn't have magic...]

... On... T-Terra, magic is... impossible. Ph-physically impossible. ... The... l-laws of physics in my world... prevent it...

... L-Luceti is... much different, in... m-many aspects.

Magic like it exists in Luceti doesn't exist in my world either. We use orbal energy to power our arts that do what others term as magic.

Orbal e-energy...? [Robert's voice is most definitely full of curiosity.] ... There are... s-so many different variations of... eclectic energy s-sources in other multiversions...

[It just makes him wonder if there are correlations or patterns...]
