Author: sen_nen_no_yuki
Pairing: Yabu x OC (Ayamoto Chisato)
Rating: PG
Summary:  Yabu and Chisato are happily married and have a three year old son. They met years ago through an internet dating service. How on earth did that happen?

A/N- Omake for Lovestruck...I mentioned that Yabu and Chisato met online and started going out in Chapter 1...here's how

It was Yabu-kun and Chisato’s 6th anniversary. After putting Sousuke to bed, they cuddled on the couch, remembering what it was like so many years ago when they first met.

~Flashback~

Chisato was walking in Shibuya with her best friend Shako and two of her school friends, Maki and Hiroto.  They spent most of the day shopping before Maki and Hiro had to leave.

“We have a double date~” Hiro explained.

“Shunsuke-kun and Atsushi-kun are waiting for us. Hurry up Hiro!” Maki was already running down the street towards the karaoke bar that was a few blocks from where they were.

“Sorry, gotta go!” Hiro ran after Maki.

“They’re lucky aren’t they…having boyfriends…” Chisato watched them run away absentmindedly.

“Nee, Chisa…are you okay? You know if you want a boyfriend so badly just go on one of those online dating services…” Shako was being sarcastic. She hated this crap. All of her friends were boy crazy. Shako freaked out when Chisa looked like she actually considered going online. “ARE YOU FREAKING CRAZY?! You don’t know who the HELL you’re going to meet! There are lots of creepy people out the Chisa!”

“I didn’t say I was going to… Jeez Shako…” Chisato flatly lied. Shako didn’t trust Chisato especially because of her tone. In the end, she decided to avoid pressing further.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When they parted ways, Chisato went home and logged onto her computer.
“What to do…” She typed in the URL of a free dating service she often heard about at school or on the streets. Rabu Rabu Machi*. “Maybe I’ll just see…as a joke right?” She made herself a file and filled out a few surveys. Chisato went to sleep thinking, “I wonder if this will work…”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Chisato spent the next few months going to school, hanging out with Shako afterschool almost every other day, and being the good student that she was. After finishing her homework, Chisato would wait until her parents were asleep before she’d log onto Rabu Rabu Machi to check if she had any matches. Every night she would be disappointed to find that there were zero notifications in her inbox. She almost gave up until one night; she accidentally forgot to turn off her computer. In the midst of her sleep, Chisato woke up and from a nightmare. She slumped into the washroom down the hall and washed her face, trying to wipe away the sweat on her face from the bad dream. She walked back to her room and heard a tone that made her jump. What was that? Chisato recognized the sound and walked over to her computer.

“A new message? Who could be sending me an e-mail at 4 in the morning?” she said quietly to herself, looking over at the clock on her desk. She opened the e-mail and saw the notification from Rabu Rabu Machi. She was…matched? With who? Yabu…Kota…such a cute name…Chisato went to look at his profile. Yabu Kota. 18 years old. Kurokawa Gakuen… That’s not far from here…just a few minutes. She saw his picture. Wow…he’s kinda cute… He’s the captain of the soccer team too… cool…

Chisato decided to do something bold.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yabu Kota was an exceptional teen. He was the captain of the soccer team at his school and a top notch student. As a 3rd year student, he was graduating soon and needed to find a university to go to. On top of that, he needed to find another captain for the soccer team and train the newbies. His life wasn’t easy, but he enjoyed it.
He was hanging out with some of his teammates after soccer practise that day. They were going to start a movie and Yabu was downstairs getting popcorn. When he came back upstairs, he saw his friends gathered around his laptop.
“What are you guys doing?” Yabu was curious.
“We’re on Rabu Rabu Machi. Sakurai here is making an account. We’re gunna put a bunch of crap answers and see what kind of person he gets matched up with. OH! Put ‘likes long walks on the beach eating…sardines!” he laughed as he gave information to Sakurai who was sitting in front of the computer typing with a large grin on his face.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After everyone left that night, Yabu went to the website and made himself an account. He was curious to see who he would be matched up with. All throughout his life, he had only had one girlfriend. It was a girl from elementary school. They were really close friends throughout their lives and eventually started to go out. They broke up a few weeks later. Yabu really loved her, but they knew each other for too long. His ex-girlfriend felt like Yabu was a brother instead of a boyfriend. After breaking up, she moved away. He swore to never love anyone again. The problem was that as Yabu got older, he really did want a girlfriend. Most of his friends liked someone, or had someone. It was hopeless for Yabu not because the girls didn’t like him; in fact they were absolutely crazy over him. He was like a celebrity at school. The only problem was that through all of the letters in his shoe box at school he didn’t find a single interesting girl. He guessed he was that desperate.

Later that night, he was finishing some homework when he got an e-mail. He opened his inbox. No way. He got matched up ALREADY?! Ayamoto Chisato. He read through her profile. They actually had a lot in common.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day afterschool, Chisato had cleaning duty. In order to investigate about this Yabu Kota, she asked Shako to switch with her.
“PLEASSEE SHAKO??? I’ll take the job when it’s your turn!” Chisato’s hands were together and she bowed low, pleading to her best friend.
“Why do I have to? I wanted to go home to read my novel~ I was reading this morning, but then I hit a really good part! I would’ve kept reading, but I had to leave for school…I didn’t want to bring the book with me because it was so huge…Anyhow, I GUESS I could do your job…but only if you do my next TWO” Shako bargained.
“Fine! Deal!” Chisa just wanted to get out of school so she could go see what her “perfect match” was like. “Thanks a bunch Shako!”
“You’re welcome…Anyway…where do you have to go afterschool? You normally don’t mind doing cleanup duty.”
“Uh…I have…a doctor’s appointment!” she quickly came up with a lie. There was NO WAY she could tell Shako that she was going to check out some guy she met online.
“Sure…okay. It can’t be helped.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`

When the school bell rang, Chisato dashed out of the classroom before even saying good-bye to her friends. They all figured that she just didn’t want to be late for her appointment.

Chisato ran home to change. She didn’t want to be recognized when doing research. She put on a pair of jeans, a white t-shirt and a pink hat. After printing out Yabu Kota’s picture, she walked out the door and towards Kurokawa Gakuen. Luckily, there was a soccer practise that day. There were a bunch of guys running across the hard, dusty field trying to fight for the black and white ball. They looked so concentrated. There was one person who looked like he was a pro. He was bounding up the middle of the field, dribbling the ball with skill. He kicked the ball to one of his teammates who returned it. The brilliant man’s leg flew backward and he kicked the ball towards the net. The goalie jumped at the ball and it flew just over his fingertips. As the ball flew into the net, a whistle was blown.

By then, Chisato was standing pretty close to the field, mesmerized by the action on the field…and the star player. She watched as all the players moved towards a man with a blue cap and a whistle around his neck, probably their coach. He gave the pro a pat on the back and gave them an encouraging speech. They all ran back to the field and the game commenced again. The star player ran past Chisato. Wait a second… the light orangey-brown hair…Chisato pulled out the picture from her bag. Yabu Kota?!

It was Yabu Kota…in real life he was cuter than she expected…He was a really hard worker too…Chisato could feel her face going red. What the hell was going on? She didn’t LIKE Yabu Kota…she hadn’t even met him…Chisato was so lost in thought that she missed the shout of “HEADS UP!” and was knocked full force in the head by the soccer ball. She fell backwards from the impact. Luckily she was standing on the grass or else she could have injured herself more…not that she wasn’t already injured…

Everyone stared at the girl lying down on the grass. There were murmurs going around the field. “Is she dead?” or “Did it kill her?” went around. The captain of the team was the only one who ran towards the injured girl.

“Are you alright?” he helped her up. Chisato was still in a daze. She looked at the person whose hand was around her. Y-yabu K-kota?! She couldn’t believe she was face-to-face with him. He looked surprised too. “Sorry, one of the new guys, Ishida, didn’t aim properly.”

It was the girl that he got matched up with. What was her name again? Chihiro? No that wasn’t it…

“Yeah I’m fine… Just a little bump is all.” It wasn’t ‘just a little bump’ Chisato had a HUGE bump on her forehead from the hit of the ball AND on the back of her head from falling backwards.

“Crap, we really need to put ice on that. I’ll take you to the infirmary.” He tried to help Chisato up. She bounced to her feet blushing at the proximity of their faces.

“I’-I’m fine no really! You don’t need to worry about me!” Chisato turned around to run but she stepped on the hem of her pants and fell forwards crashing her head against the ground. “Itai…” she winced holding her head.

“That’s it, you really need to see the nurse.” He picked her up bridal-style and ran to the school infirmary. Chisato was embarrassed and tried to fight the somewhat unknown guy but he was holding onto her so firmly that she couldn’t move. She eventually gave up and let Yabu carry her. He ran into the room calling out to the nurse. “Yoshida-san! I need help treating someone!” no one answered. The orangey-brown headed boy said kindly, “I’ll just treat you myself then,” smiling at Chisato. She gave ‘you’re no doctor’ look to Yabu who just chuckled. “I’ve been hit quite a few times myself. I know how to treat a bump…or a few in your case.” He walked out of the room for a few minutes and came back with ice wrapped in a towel. He gently placed it on the bump on Chisato’s forehead. She winced from both the pain and the sudden shock of the cold. “Sorry!”

He fixed the bundle and put it back onto Chisa’s head. Every time he removed the package, he leaned towards Chisato to inspect the bump. She blushed furiously. This guy was really cute. Especially up close. He was so nice too…

Yabu handed Chisato the package. “I forgot to introduce myself,” Chisato said, “I’m Ayamoto Chisato.”

“I know. I saw your profile. You have an account on Rabu Rabu Machi…You probably already know my name… but to formally introduce myself…I’m Yabu Kota. It’s nice to meet you.” So this girl’s my ‘perfect match’…He analyzed her face… She seems pretty nice…cute too…

“We’re supposed to be a…perfect match aren’t we…” Chisato was looking out the window, her hair acting as a curtain, covering her blushing face.

~End of Flashback~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“AHAHAHAHAHA!” Yabu was laughing really loudly.
“SHHH! Kou-chan! You’re going to wake up Sousuke!” Chisato tried to calm her husband down.
“I can’t help but laugh~ You were so cute back then.” Chisato pouted.
“So you’re saying I’m not cute now?”
“Of course I’m saying that. You’re beautiful now…” he kissed her on the head. “Do you remember our first date? It was so awkward… I was the one who asked you out and you acted like you hated me…” he mumbled into Chisato’s hair.
“Yes I remember…how could I forget? That was so embarrassing! I’ve told you a thousand times Kota, I NEVER hated you. It just didn’t work out the first time…”
~Flashback~
“Ayamoto-san…if…umm…you would like…do you want…to have dinner with me?” Yabu blurted out. After the whole soccer ball incident, they had been hanging out every now and then. Chisato was kinda ignoring Shako, but she just couldn’t tell her that she was hanging out with a guy she met ONLINE. Shako would kill her. She often made up excuses when she went to go see Yabu-kun. This time, it was their movie night. She told Shako that she had to go to the dentist. Shako was suspicious. Dentists’ offices are never open at night. This time she decided to spy on Chisato. Her best friend was hiding in the bushes as the two talked.
“I told you already Yabu-kun. You don’t have to be so formal with me! Calling me Chisato is fine!”
“Chisato…-san”
“NO! Just Chisato is fine!”
“Chisato…” he said slowly as if her name were new to him.
“Yes that’s right!” she smiled. Yabu always liked her smile.
“So…Chisato…dinner?” he asked again.
“Sure! I’d love to Yabu-kun!” she said happily.
“That’s Kota to you. If I have to call you by your first name, you have to call me by mine.”
“Hai~ Kou-chan!” she stuck out her tongue playfully.
“I never said you could call me ‘Kou-chan’” he looked sideways clearly embarrassed.
“You never said I couldn’t, Kou-chan~ saa… come one~ let’s go to eat!” She pulled Yabu down the street, happily skipping along. Little did she know that her best friend was watching them.
“So it’s a guy…” Shako muttered to herself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yabu took Chisato to a small restaurant. As Yabu and Chisato talked, they were having a good time. The date was going better than expected. Sadly, everything went downhill when Chisato spotted Shako peeking into the window of the restaurant. She was so surprised that she accidentally dropped the glass she was taking a sip from. It landed on the table and water spilt onto Yabu’s lap.

“Oh my gosh! I’m sooo sorry Yabu-kun!” she rushed over dabbing a napkin on his lap.

“It’s fine! It was an accident! And what did I say about calling me ‘Yabu-kun’?” he chuckled as he helped to wipe up the water. The water was EXTREMELY cold, but Yabu tried not to show any discomfort. He didn’t want Chisato to feel any worse than she already was feeling.

If Chisato wasn’t already depressed from ruining their date, she would have been affected by the sight of her best friend. Chisato broke down and started crying. She absolutely hated the fact that she was lying to Shako. And for what? A guy she barely even knew.

“Chisato? What’s wrong?” he got up and went to rub his hand on her back to comfort her.

“I…can’t do this… I hate lying to Shako…” she sobbed in between sentences.

“Shako…you mean your best friend?” Chisato nodded.

“She’s still there…if you want, you can go talk to her. I don’t mind.” He didn’t give Chisato a chance to answer as he pushed her out the door. Chisa ran to her spying friend.

“Is this why you’ve been ditching me so often? For some guy?! If you didn’t want to hang out you could have at least told me. You didn’t have to lie.” Shako scowled at Chisato.

“I didn’t mean to. I was afraid of what you would say…when you heard that I met Yabu-kun on Rabu Rabu Machi…”

“YOU WHAT?! Chisato, I told you it was dangerous to do that kind of thing!” Shako scolded her friend and then sighed, “I really can’t stop you though… Man, Chisa, you’ve gotta trust me more… I guess he seems alright though…but be careful. They always seem nice at first and then next thing you know he brings you to some dark alley and tries to rape you. Just be careful alright?” Shako advised before walking off into the night towards her home.

“Thanks Shako!” she yelled to her best friend who simply put a hand into the air. When Shako was out of sight, Chisato remembered that Yabu was still inside the restaurant. “Crap…”

When Chisato got back into the restaurant, Yabu was getting up to leave. She walked over to the table quickly and immediately bowed. “I’m so sorry Kou-chan!” When he didn’t answer, she looked up to see him smiling brightly. Thinking back, Yabu’s smile was one of the things that made Chisato fall for him. Hard.

“Why are you looking so sad still? You made up with Takahashi-san didn’t you?”

“Yeah I did…but I ruined our first date…Maybe things aren’t working out…We should just be friends…” she hung her head low. She felt like crap. She ruined their date, the date that Yabu worked so hard to plan, and he forgave her so quickly. She didn’t deserve a guy like him.

Yabu’s face dropped. His smile was now gone. “What are you doing Chisato?! Are you stupid?! You like him!” Chisato thought to herself as she walked away. Her mind wanted her to turn around and to apologize to Yabu, but her body and heart pushed her to keep walking.

~End o f Flashback~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You thought I didn’t deserve you? Chi-chan you’re so silly. You know…I really liked you at the time…It hurt that you dumped me…on the first date too!”
“But Kou-chan…If I hadn’t dumped you…you would have never told me that you loved me…”
~Flashback~
Amazingly, Chisato got matched up with another man. This time, he was a year older than Yabu. He was really mature but not as nice as him…wait…why was she comparing him to Yabu?
They went out on a few dates. Everything clicked. They had good chemistry and had a lot of fun together. It was their third or fourth date when Chisato’s date told her that he was going on a business trip and would be gone for the next three days. It saddened Chisa that she couldn’t see him, but there was always the phone right?
“Okay, I’ll see you when you get back then. Bye~ I love you too. Good night.” She hung up the phone after talking to her boyfriend. Chisato’s mom ordered her daughter to get her lazy butt out of the house and to pick up some milk. She trudged out the door and to the supermarket where she bought the milk. On her way home, she saw…her boyfriend? With another girl. His arm was slung around the girl and they were walking out of…A LOVE HOTEL?! What a scumbag. Chisato stomped up her ‘boyfriend’ and slapped him across the face.
“How dare you! Toying with my feelings. Pretending you love me and then going to sleep with another girl. You- you…” Suddenly a figure flew in front to Chisato as tears started leaking out of her eyes. She was pissed off. The fact that she was crying as she was trying to tell off her boyfriend angrily showed how weak she was. The figure threw a punch and Chisato’s ex-boyfriend fell to the ground.
“HONEY!” the unknown female ran to her sweetheart on the ground. Even though he was two-timing, she still loved him? Could it really be love or just a fling?
A hand wrapped itself around Chisato’s wrist, pulling her behind the person who the hand belonged to. Kota?!
“YOU BASTARD! HOW COULD YOU TREAT ON A GIRL LIKE CHISATO?!” he yelled.
“It’s easy dude. You know how it is. A guy has to have options.” Even though he was on the ground in pain, he was still talking crap.
Yabu went over to the guy and grabbed him by the collar pulling him to eye level. “You scum bag. If I ever see you remotely NEAR Chisato EVER again, I’m going to kill you. You got it? Good.” With that, Yabu threw the man to the floor and grabbed Chisato’s wrist again. He pulled her away from the scene. Even though Yabu was angry, the grip on her wrist was still gentle.
Yabu pulled Chisato to an alley. Oh no…Shako warned her about this. They stopped and Yabu spun Chisato around into his warm arms.
“Are you alright?” There were tears streaming down Chisato’s face. She was heartbroken. A man she loved was cheating on her. She collapsed onto the ground hugging her knees as she cried her eyes out. Yabu just rubbed her back. Every time he did that, Chisato felt immediately relaxed.
“Kota…why am I such an idiot? How could I not see that he didn’t love me?”
“Chisato…don’t worry about him. He’s a bastard. What man would be stupid enough to throw your love away?” he said quietly. All along, Yabu still loved Chisato. They had only known each other for a short while, but he was already head over heels.
“I swear I’ll never love again. I doubt anyone would love me anyway.” She sobbed even harder.
“You’re wrong…There’s someone who still loves you.” Those words alone made Chisato stop crying.
“Who…?” Chisato was pretty sure she had a good idea of what was to come.
“Me…Even though we haven’t known each other for very long, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed…lonely when you first turned me down…then I felt angry when I heard you were going out with that bastard. I hope you don’t mind that I gave him a piece of my mind…”
“I don’t…thank you for that…If you weren’t there…I probably would have cried and just forgiven him…But…Why were you there Kota?”
“I was passing by…I heard someone yelling and when I turned around to see who it was…it was you…You know the man you were with? He’s a senpai at where I go for school. Rumours say he’s a real player. I guess that’s true…Plus…I KINDA saw you were going out with him on your profile…” he chuckled innocently. Wow this guy REALLY liked her.
“Thanks for saving me Kou-chan…you know what? I love you too.” She kissed him on the cheek. Any guy that would stick out his own neck for a girl he barely even knew was worth trusting.
~End of Flashback~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“You confessed to me first… You know I really am thankful that you came to my rescue that night Kou-chan…If you hadn’t…who knows where we’d be right now…you’re like my knight in shining armor…” she snuggled closer to him.

“Mmhmm…I really fell for you when I first met you Chisa…” he was dozing off.

“I know…Do you remember what it was like after that?” Chisato didn’t receive an answer to her question because by then, Yabu had already fallen asleep. She giggled before saying, “Oyasumi Kota…” kissing him on the cheek and getting up slowly in order to get a blanket. She pulled the blanket around them both before falling asleep on the couch. What a lovely anniversary.
