Cell phones?

Apparently, I'm eligible for a phone upgrade this weekend (I thought it wasn't until Thanksgiving). I'm on my parents' Verizon family plan. I'm thinking of actually getting a smartphone, since right now I just have a regular cell phone, and at this point I seem to be the only person in the universe with a regular cell phone

HTC Incredible

Second choice, Motorola Droid

the Droid Incredible - Alex has it, and it's pretty awesome. It almost makes me want a smartphone!

Dena likes her Palm Pre. Not as common as some of the Android types, but a good phone.

If you want a keyboard, definitely the Droid 2. If you don't, then the Incredible is probably the best option, but you should also try the Droid X and the Fascinate. Play with them and see what you like; they're all different sizes and stuff. They're basically all the same inside.

I used to really want a Palm Pre, but you should realize that it's a less-supported operating system. If anyone is making an app for only two platforms, it'll be iPhone and Android. Pretty soon, Windows will be #3, and Palm (WebOS) will be #4. You'll always be able to do email and web and stuff, but your other options will probably stay limited.

Keep in mind that smartphones nowadays come with the requirement to buy a data plan. That's $30/month for individual plans; I don't know how family plans work.
