A Conversation with a Coffee Addict

A: 我今天去超市。

B: 为什么？

A: 因为我需要买咖啡和茶。

B: 你喜欢茶吗？

A: 对！我喜欢绿茶，可是我最喜欢红茶。

B: 你也喜欢喝咖啡吗？

A: 我喜欢！我想咖啡很好喝，可是茶更好喝！所以，我得买茶喝咖啡。

B: 对不起。。。可是，你不可以用“得”。

A: 什么？

B: 可能，你可以说，“需要”。

A: 可是。。。可是。。。我每天都喝咖啡和茶。。。所以，如果我今天不喝，我就会死！

B: 哎呀！真的吗？

A: 是真的。

B: 哎呀！你应该去！

A: 对！科室。。。因为我现在有空。。。我正在练习普通话。

B: 哦！你开妹开始学普通话？这个笔记本是你的吗？我可不可以看看？

A: 可以。。。可是。。。

I didn't realize you're doing Chinese! :o It seems to be going well... not that I can read it... XD

Thanks. Yeah. I'm currently in China, teaching - but studying Chinese seemed the best thing to do since free lessons are a perk I get. :P But listening to all the locals here - and seeing the signs - I feel as though it is a task I will never achieve!

That's cool. How long are you staying there for? And do you like it? I heard of all kinds of experiences so I'm curious. Also, I suppose you're still at a huge advantage as opposed to taking it in school. =_= It's a massive country, there's bound to be gazillions of regional dialects, so there's no point in learning it unless you're gonna live there. I've been here since Oct 08, but I hope to hang around for a long time. I really love it - and the city I am in is pretty cool. I'm learning one of the two main languages - Mandarin, which is really exciting! But that means death to my Japanese. TT___TT
