I seem to have fallen behind on this meme thing due to a combination of laziness, absentmindedness, and general incompetence. So, to catch up:

01 - Your current favorite game
02 - The most underrated game you’ve ever played
03 - A game that makes you really happy
I'll always have a soft spot for any of the old Shining series games, up to and including Shining Force 3. Also, any of the mainline Sakura Taisen games. It's hard to explain(my ninja info cards), but something about those two series really resonates with me. In the case of Shining Force, there's definitely some nostalgia to it; also, its gameplay has a real beauty in simplicity that I feel no other straight tactical RPG has ever managed to accomplish nearly as well. Also, I love the design, especially in the case of Shining Force 3. For SakuTai, well... design's a major part. I also actually have really enjoyed the battles in the series, even though most of the game is definitely more visual novel/datesim-esque. I like the system that started in SakuTai 3, and though the battles tend to be ridiculously easy, I feel like there's a lot of potential there, if for some reason they wanted to make a game focusing more on the battles.

04 - A game that made you sad
Ironically, I can use my previous answer again here, for reasons of the latter two parts of Shining Force 3 and the entire SakuTai series except for 5 not being released outside of Japan. Back when I was a young whippersnapper serving in middle and high school, learning that scenarios 2 and 3 of Shining Force 3 were never going to make it here left me in despair. On the other hand, it did start me on importing games so it's not all bad.

More to the point of the question though, a certain part of Valkyria Chronicles was very sad. I won't spoil it though.

05 - A game that really reminds you of someone
Magna Carta always makes me think of my grandma, because it was the last game that she watched me play before she died. Dynasty Warriors reminds me of her a lot too, because that was her favorite game to watch. Shining Force 3 reminds me of my grandpa because back when I first imported the latter two parts of it, he actually helped me understand it since I had only just started learning Japanese. Soul Calibur 2 reminds me of Chofi, and by extension the entire group from the Cove.
