Ring - “Diamonds? Are you mad?!” “What? They aren’t big enough?”
Hero - When Iruka had been little boy, his parents were the greatest heroes in whole village; when they died that thought alone had kept him rising from bed.
Memory - Fingers traced over the naked, scar-riddled skin, slowly and carefully as if Iruka was hell-bent to memorize every sharp angle and line of Kakashi’s body.
Box - The idea of a whole human being -- height, 178cm; weight, 66.2kg the little voice whispered in the back of his head -- to be turned into nothing more than ash and pieces of bone made the jounin want to fall down on his knees and howl.
Run -Iruka found it quite exhilarating to be chased for once by a certain horny jounin instead of an enemy ninja.
Hurricane - Their relationship wasn’t stable, gentle one but more like a tempest, a force of nature, and once you got caught into its path there was no way out; the only thing you could do was to enjoy the ride.
Wings - Iruka often compared being a child prodigy into being a bird; who knows how different the future of all those hailed heroes would have been, if their wings had not been clipped so young.
Cold - The coldness of their bed was the first thing that alarmed Kakashi that something was very wrong.
Red - Lot of things were red; blood, Sharingan, eyes that had been crying for hours, but the sweetest shade of red the jounin had ever seen was the one that colored Umino Iruka’s cheeks, when he asked Kakashi out.
Drink - The first time Kakashi accidentally drank Iruka’s coffee was also the last; not because of it blacker and thicker than tar but because the pony-tailed man was cranky as hell rest of the day for not getting his beloved dose of caffeine in the morning.
Midnight - He found his lover standing on the roof, half-naked and barefooted, staring at the full moon with such anguish it nearly broke the silver-haired man’s heart.
Temptation - Shinobi were taught to withstand excruciating pain, both mental and physical torture and all sorts of twisted things, but no training had prepared Kakashi for the alluring sight of a certain chuunin-sensei bent down, all but displaying that fine rump of his.
View - Genma and Raidou had to admit it was rather adorable if not hilarious sight, when the famous Copy Nin tried to muster his courage to go and speak to the feisty sensei from the Academy, who was oh so painfully oblivious to Kakashi’s uneasiness.
Music - Iruka was as tone-deaf as they came but when he lay in the bed, ear pressed against Kakashi’s chest, he found his fingers tapping in rhythm as he listened to the world’s most beautiful sound.
Silk - Their skin was coarser than any woman’s and they both had their fair share of scars and marks but that’s what made them, them.
Cover - The next ten seconds that followed after the realization that he had accidentally scratched his Icha Icha Violence, were of the most horrifying ones in Kakashi’s whole life.
Promise - Kakashi slowly circled his arms around the shivering form, silently swearing to do anything possible to ease Iruka’s pain as he pulled the silently sobbing chuunin against him.
Dream - He wasn’t sure how it happened, but Iruka all but floated the rest of the day, when Hatake Kakashi said ‘yes’ to him.
Candle - The lone flame glowing in the window was a message for all who knew it; ‘I’m waiting, come home’.
Talent - It took great skills to get a rise from Copy Nin, but the unlucky son of a bitch that was too busy flirting with his Iruka to realize the danger he was in, achieved it in a matter of seconds.
Silence - When Kakashi asked, why there was always a radio softly playing music by the bed, he was surprised to find out that Iruka had been suffering from tinnitus for years.
Journey - As the priest kept talking, Iruka watched his nervously twitching husband-to-be, he mused that it had been one hell of a ride but there was no way he would change a thing.
Fire - It never ceased to amaze Kakashi, how a simple touch from those tanned fingers could bring forth such burning lust, the intensity of that pure need scaring the jounin sometimes.
Strength - He knew it was cliché but Iruka knew the only reason he got through the day was because of his personal tar aka morning coffee and now his damned lover had gone and drank it!
Mask - Porcelain, fabric, emotionless and nonchalance; all those protective masks Kakashi had worn throughout his whole life shattered into pieces the very moment their team busted inside the enemy hideout.
Ice - “Kakashi! Put some socks on or sleep on the couch!”
Fall - The look of shock on the enemies’ faces had been worth it, Iruka chuckled darkly even as he plummeted down, the surface of the sea approaching quite fast.
Forgotten - The battered and broken body hung from the chains like a macabre doll, left behind by the sadistic players.
Dance - Despite being graceful like an ethereal wraith when it came to taijutsu, Kakashi never failed to step on Iruka’s toes.
Body - The presence of another crawling in the bed juggled his sluggish mind, and he was pulled close, back against chest, the familiar warmth soothing him back to sleep instantly.

Farewell - It was practical if not morbid to say goodbyes every single time like it would be the last -- besides it made the ‘welcome home’ sex so much better, since they’d had to top the one they’d had before the departure.
World - He didn’t even register the desperately attacking missing nins, not when the sole reason for his existence was watching him through swollen eyes, exhausted and not broken.
Formal - There really was no words to describe their emotions, when they signed the papers of their first own apartment.
Fever - Iruka didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, when he realized that a sick Kakashi was even more petulant than the kids he taught at the Academy.
Laugh - “What took you so long?” he rasped, every single word hurting his sore throat like little needles but the wavering, bitter chuckle that escaped behind Hound’s mask made it easier for Iruka to finally slip into unconsciousness.
Lies - For a ninja, lying was like a second nature, but when it came to relationships it became a hindrance -- especially when you “forgot” to tell your lover that you were very allergic to pine apple.
Forever - This happiness was going to end one day, maybe sooner than later, but they were damned to make most of it.
Overwhelmed - The date had been written down in the unofficial Annals of the Mission Room, underlined twice and then circled with red, because it had been the first and last time when someone had managed to shut up the Wrath of Sensei aka Umino Iruka mid-rant, and despite their valiant searching, no one, not even the Hokage, found out where Kakashi disappeared for the next two weeks.
Whisper - People often thought Kakashi was a perverted and horny man -- he was -- but they would never know the jounin’s adorable habit of whispering sweet nothings in Iruka’s ear just to see the chuunin smile.
Wait - “Maa, and they think Naruto is the impatient one, Iruka-sensei,” the silver-haired man leered, laughing inwardly at the pout he received back, “it takes a little bit longer than ten seconds for the cinnamon buns to cool down.”
Talk - Tsunade had seen lot of bizarre things in her life but never before had she seen a mere chuunin scold a roomful of grown, deadly killers like little children, making her first day as Hokage much more bearable than she had first thought.
Search - His father had told him once that one will find love, when one stops searching for it; later on Kakashi had to wonder, if Sakumo had had a good laugh at his expense.
Hope - If there was something Iruka wished for, it was that he would be able to share at least a decade with Kakashi, but even then he knew it was rather hopeless dream.
Eclipse - To blend in, become one with the shadows, was an art they were taught from early childhood, but now it was a skill Kakashi sorely cursed as he tried to find hunt down his wayward lover, who had dared to steal the entire Icha Icha-collection just to get the jounin’s attention.
Gravity - The moment they became aware of the other man’s presence, it was like there was an invisible magnet between them, and suddenly there was no place in Konoha were they wouldn’t accidentally bump into each other.
Highway - If Kakashi was the wanderer of unknown paths, then Iruka weaved through traffic jams.
Unknown - When they first met, the other man was an uncharted territory but one that Kakashi soon became curious to familiarize, one way or the other.
Lock - There really was no lock that could stop Iruka, if the chuunin decided so, and the one keeping Kakashi’s heart closed was no different.
Breathe - He spent ten painful nights and days next to the bed, before there was a change of pattern in the even rise and fall of the bandaged chest as those dark eyes cracked open, and Kakashi was able to breathe again.
