okay, so can we talk about how this wedding scared the shit out of me?
it's happening. it's actually happening.
people my age are all getting married.
what the hell?
i mean, it was one thing when it was people at work and all of that... but now it's hitting way too close to home.
and all but two or three of greg's friends are married.

we're like 6 months apart in freak-out moments. i had this reality check at a friend's wedding in August and i kinda wanted to punch myself in the face. (also, you need to factor in how i'm almost 29 and i'm just having this reality check, so you're doing fine!) everyone's always bothering me and Ben about getting married and we keep fighting them off and i've said things about how my parents have been married over 40 years and how rare they are, and how much that scares the shit out of me. and how many divorces there are and how i don't think i can make things work long term, etc ( ... )

i really hope you're right. and i said all that to him last night. that relationships aren't always perfect. and there's gonna be times we damn near hate eachother, but you make it work. you find a way to get over whatever it is that's bothering you and you make it work. and maybe he's just not ready for that part of it.

i think the best thing for me to do is just give him his space. tell him we'll cut it down and we can see eachother whenever and maybe he'll start to miss me. or maybe i'll just let him call the shots. instead of doing the same boring date night crap, we can do whatever he wants to do. at this point, i'm ready to practice xbox and let him teach me magic cards. seriously. :(

magic...yeah, i make fun of ben for that one. thankfully, he doesn't do that so much anymore..definitely not to the point where i'd be all 'seriously?! do you expect me to play this with you?' because i'd put on a wizard hat and mock him the entire time if he insisted.
