Okay, so my vacation from my vacation is officially over. I saw my dad and stepmom off to the airport earlier today and I've been spending the rest of the time doing dumb stuff on the laptop. I'll do a quick recap now and tomorrow I'll start sifting through pictures and I'll post the fun ones here.

So, German security is the easiest security ever. ( Read more... )

I did have lots of fun. Going to other countries is super-fun. (Especially the food. Mmm, food.)

You live in Finland, right? (I totally just stalked your profile...) I asked my aunt about the shoe-think and she said that most countries other than America don't make you take off your shoes. This was my first time flying out of anywhere other than America so it was quite a shock. I don't even know why America makes you take of your shoes. Maybe they think we're hiding bombs in there....

I'm in Berlin, Germany right now. I've been here for six months on a study-abroad program, which is really just code for 'learn a little German, but mostly slack off'. I've been having lots of fun, even if my wallet hates me for it.

Bwahaha, I have such a doujin addiction too, and that's not helping. I've bought 16 doujinshi since I've got here! Oh dear...

Europe generally seems much more reasonable about air travel. Even England is pretty relaxed and my French uncle complains about how 'uptight' they are.

Yep, I live in America! I'm coming home very soon--on July 16th. I'm really excited. I loved studying abroad, but I missed my closest friends. And having mastery over the main language.

I'll really miss the amazing public transportation, though. :'(

So, the girl subletting in our apartment, her boyfriend came back from Paris a few days ago and gave her French macaroons. She let me have some - the rose was yummy; I also liked the vanilla (it totally tasted like French vanilla icecream. There was something that I think was melon that was also pretty good.

Also, your Europe stories are making me jealous in a major way. I want to go back.

Mmmm, macaroons. I want them baaack. Apparently in the States they don't have all the different flavors and fillings. I don't know why anyone would even bother then... :3

Don't be too jealous! I'm basically the world's most well-traveled shut-in. If I don't have someone to be out with, I'm usually at home writing fic or something. I'm exciting like that.
