Yeah, they all stick to the script no matter what.
There's something to be said for that in some situations, but when the problem goes outside of the boundaries learn to adapt.

There -is- pvp, but its very, very marginal/minor.
Its called "Ballista" and you have to sign up for it. I've played FFXI for 2 years and have never done it.
So since you're anti-pvp, you'd enjoy that. :P
