Speaking of money and hotel stays, if I can get a plane ticket out there, is there anyone that would be willing to host me so I wouldn't have to get a hotel room? I can sleep on mattresses, couches, floors, whatever.

I'm with you on the present thing. Any time I see something in a store that I like (not need), she makes some comment about 'that's why you should register and have a shower', but it all makes me quite uncomfortable. I don't want people to buy stuff for me because of some weird obligation. How is asking for cash any better than providing people with a list of items they have to purchase? Screwed up system if you ask me. What I really want are gift cards to hardware stores haha
