I missed Monday by like, two hours.... I haven't gone to sleep yet, though, so in my opinion it still counts.
Anyway, here it is.

Rei had snuck into the house quietly that night, not suspecting anyone knew where she had been, or even that she had been somewhere. She was wrong.
Minako was sitting in the kitchen waiting for Rei to come home. Again. Usually, she just sat and didn't say anything because she and Rei weren't close, and she didn't want to find herself out on the street. Again. Tonight, however, Usa had cried. She had asked Minako questions that she didn't want to answer, she had looked for a person Minako didn't know how to find. Usagi had asked the impossible from Mina, and the only thing she could do to help her crying friend was lie, hold Usagi, and rock her to sleep. Again.
Minako had tired of it. She was going to find out why Rei was out, and she was going to get her to stop. As soon as Rei entered Minako's line of sight, Minako called for her. Rei froze, turned, and walked slowly into the kitchen. Minako had been sitting in the dark, so Rei turned on the light. Had she known who called her name, she would not have come.
Rei cut her eyes at Minako, seeing no reason to feign friendliness with the girl. Minako spoke before Rei had the chance. "Rei, where have you been? Usagi was looking for you tonight, and she couldn't find you."
At the mention of Usagi's name, Rei visibly deflated. "Why was she looking for me? And at night? I don't understand-"
"She didn't tell me why she was looking for you; she simply said that she was. She couldn't find you, so she came to me. Crying." Rei looked like she was about to collapse. And not from fatigue.
"She'll probably act as though nothing happened, but she asked me if I knew where you were. I had no idea what to tell her. There was no way I could calm her down. Only you could ever do that. I got her to go to sleep, and then I came down here to wait for you.
"I've been waiting a very long time for you, Rei.
"I have a feeling she'll be asking about your nighttime where abouts again. When she does, what will you have me say to her?"
Minako waited to get a response from Rei, but she didn't get what she expected. Not in the least. Rei sat down at the kitchen table, and stared at nothing. Although Minako feared the girl would never speak, she eventually said, "I never meant to make her cry."
The blond was now at a loss as to what to do. She and the other girl didn't get along, so she knew it wasn't her place to give comfort. There was nothing she could say either. It wasn't long before Rei continued, though, so she didn't have to say anything at all.
"It's not easy; trying to take care of all of us, you know. I'm doing the best I can, but that's not always good enough. I just want her to be happy. That's why I'm doing this! I just want to see her smiling."
"Rei, she does smile. Even when you've given your best and still feel inadequite, she smiles. When we fight, she smiles. When she misses you, she smiles. No matter what happens, she smiles. She's that type of person."
"I mean a genuine smile, Minako. I don't like her pained smiles. I want her to have everything. I want to give her the world."
"Rei, Usagi deserves more credit than you give her. You don't have to give her everything; she wants to earn things, too. She wants to earn your trust and respect, just like she earned your friendship."
"She has those! I do trust and respect Usagi!"
"Rei, sweetie. No you do not. You don't respect or trust any of us. Least of all her."
"What do you know? You can't tell me who I respect or don't respect. You don't know me, Minako."
"On the contrary, love. I know everything about you. And it's true that you don't trust us. You don't tell us where you go every night. You don't tell us how you manage to pay for all the things we have here. And you never did tell us the truth about Mamoru.
"You don't respect us, either. We have no privacy, save Makoto, and we have no right to do anything. Our opinions don't matter to you at all because you're a tyrant.
"And before you get upset and wake the dead, remember Usagi is still asleep." Minako stood to leave the kitchen, but as she was crossing into the hall, Rei called for her and told her to sit down. The girl complied, and Rei spoke.
"Why did you make things complicated, Mina-chan? Why did you ruin our friendship? If there was anyone I could have told the truth to, it was you, and you messed that up. Why?
The quiet words cut Minako like a blade, but she ignored the pain. "I needed it, Rei."
"What about me, Minako? What about the fact that I need you?"
"You have me, Rei! I'm right here! I'll never leave you."
Rei sighed. "Things will never be the same between us, Mina-chan. You manipulated me, decieved me, and hurt me. I can forgive you, but there's no way I can trust you after that. I mean, how do I know that you'll never do it again?"
Minako paused for a moment; she wanted to give Rei an answer she would understand. After a moment, she said, "I did it because I love you. I'll never do it again because I love you. You can trust me," she paused and took a breath, "because I love you, Rei-chan."
Minako took Rei's hands in her own and continued, "I want to do it again. I would give anything to do it again. But I won't, since I know that you didn't like it-"
"I never said I didn't like it!" Rei exclaimed, then blushed.
Minako clolored at the compliment, and continued, "-and since I know that you could never love me the way you love her. I've accepted it now."
Rei thought for a while about what Minako had said. She responeded, "I missed my best friend a lot, Minako. I wish that we could have that again, but I doubt we can.
"Where is Usa?"
"She's asleep in my room. I don't think you should disturb her now, though. She was really upset, and it took me a while to get her to sleep."
"Nonsense. She wanted me for some reason, so I'll go find out why, since you don't know."
"Rei, I really don't think that's a good idea-- Rei! Come back!"
Minako grabbed Rei's wrist just before she opened her door. "Don't go in there Rei."
"Why not Minako? What's in there?"
"Trust me, Rei. Just don't go in there, ok?"
"Minako, let go of me. Now that I know you're hiding something, I won't leave until I see what it is."
"Have it your way, then, Rei. Don't say I didn't warn you."
Rei opened Minako's door, and didn't notice anything different about the room initially. She walked in, but didn't see Usagi anywhere. She gave Minako a quizzical look, but the blond shrugged and pointed at the bathroom door. Rei walked over and knocked, and was greeted by the lips of a very excited, very naked, very blond Usagi.
