Jim had never been to New York before.

But he did know how to use Google and the phone to his advantage.

Lana's eyes were wide and she reached across the table to hold his hand. "This is beautiful," she said. "Are you sure I'm dressed up enough to be here?"

"I wouldn't know," Jim shrugged one shoulder, an innocent look on his face as he embraced the cheesiness of his next words. "You always look gorgeous to me."

After dinner - he had paid without letting Lana see the cheque again, thank you sneaky spy skills - they stepped out into New York and Jim froze on the pavement as it took him a second to get readjusted to the sensory overload.
