LEAGUE OF BAMFS
[korra+bolin+mako ; a fanmix]

i'm EXCITED-- my bromancing heart is already bouncing around at the potential of these three to kick some serious ass and getting into trouble all over the place. the entire selection is solely made up of dance tunes BECAUSE SHOEGAZIN' LONELY HEARTS CAUGHT IN THE RAIN AND INSTAGRAM PICTURES OF YOUR LOCAL GAS STATION AT 3 AM DOES NOT APPLY RIGHT NOW, OK. korra's section includes stadium you-ain't-gonna-bring-me-down fistpumping yell-it-out anthems, bolin's a little bit more club-friendly and flirty and YEAHBROYEAH, and mako rounds it out for the night by mellowing out with some smooth as shit beats. enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

korra

JONATHAN BOULET | trounce

Sarcastic and belligerent. A insistent war beat is drummed out and you're left rolling up your sleeves and finding something to lay waste to.

JACQUES LU CONT | church

MASSIVE tune, with the current trends finding it cool~ and interesting~ to drop the beat and pick it back up and just let it play itself out in all the banger club mixes, you're left wading in the mud, down and dirty with the gritty, gritty synths and scratched out hymns. it's time to repent!!!!

THE GOSSIP | heavy cross (fred falke remix)

i love beth ditto. she's not someone to mindlessly belt out killer notes to show off and knows exactly when to change her mood and inflection, but once she pulls out the stops, prepare yourself.

bolin

TEEN DAZE | let's groove
god, this song is happy. sweet brass accompianat and those ridiculous synth runs is an instant pick-me-up, perfect for when you feel yourself slipping into ennui or boredom.

HEY CHAMP | cold dust girl (gemini club remix)
the first time i heard this song, i was honestly just gaping like a fish, trying to comprehend what the hell i just heard. i can't even-- some of the best synth work i've ever heard, impeccable production, especially with the layering of the sly piano runs.

CAPSULE| feelin' alright (golden guitar remix)
funk beats slide right in between guitar solos and the charmingly high female vocals, and the wood clacking appearing in the middle-- also love the way that without warning everything just stops, and that suspension just leads you straight into the next part, the buildup nearly non-existent, just an explosion of awesome punched directly into your face.

mako

ANGUS AND JULIA STONE |big jet plane (stern disco remix)
and as promised, we'll be winding down with mako, and first up is this lounge-appropriate, dreamy wanderlust ballad, but i'd be hard-pressed to believe you didn't start gyrating to this. wavy, loose and the slightly smoky voice makes this undeniably suave.

HOLY GHOST! | hold my breath
the light chimes of synths is an interesting companion to the almost defeatist lyrics, the swaying, but insistent beats makes this ideal for a night under the stars.

GEMINI CLUB | ghost (blue satellite remix)
a deceptively laidback track that only gets more interesting as the piano, then strings join in for a chill, glistening discopop.
