Word of the Day Drabble
Just a fun idea I suddenly had today, to get myself out of the writing slums. My muse has apparently seen fit to take a holiday as well.
beatific \bee-uh-TIF-ik\, adjective:
1. exaltedly happy; blissful
2. blessing or making exceedingly happy
There is something intrinsically great about being back in Konoha, Naruto sighs contentedly.
The grass seems a shade greener. The birds' songs are somehow livelier. Hell, even the sun seems to shine brighter.
As he walks past the giant gates of the hidden village and is greeted by the various ninja off duty, Naruto stretches his arms behind his head leisurely and feels a wide grin stretch across his face.
Yup, Konoha is the best place on earth.
But it isn't until a blur of pink hair, a flash of knuckles, and he's sent flying through the air to crash into a stone wall (now reduced to rubble) that Naruto feels truly back home.
"You idiot!!! Tsunade-shishou said you completed the mission a week ago and ran off to vacation at some bath house while the rest of us covered your ass!"
Yup. He sighed beatifically. Home sweet home.
