Today I had my first lecture on the Italian Renaissance. I have also now received my module guides and student handbooks. My first impression is that History of Art is going to be tough, much more difficult than the English and Sociology modules that I took last year. This is partly due to the unfamiliarity of the subject...but then again Sociology ( Read more... )

Oooh! Museum visiting! Want to go on Saturday - then I can come too?? Or do you need to commune artistically?

I think you're going to be excellent at art history - you have such a natural sense of aesthetics, it's bound to stand you in good stead. And the rest, surely, is technical know-how you'll acquire in time.

I get a bit scared shopping on a Saturday...but yes, I would love to have a girly day of shopping and art. Perhaps we should go to the Ashmolean and I can go to the Christ Church Picture Gallery during the week or on Sunday...then we'd have the rest of the day for shopping (though I did do an illicit spot of shopping yesterday myself so this is all very indulgent).
