Well, maybe, mindfuck = unexplainable ending. Or movies that make you go in circles = pointless.

After putting much thought into this (sarcasm), I actually think that Mulholland Drive, Vanilla Sky, Pi or even A Clockwork Orange would be much better recommendations than Being John Malkovich.
