The Five D's: Dragonflies, Drama, Diets, Dreams, and Discipline

1. I was on the train the other day when I noticed a dragonfly beating its wings furiously against the sliding doors. I don't know how he got on the subway, we were in the midtown (23st station), but he somehow got trapped in the subway and was entertaining a crowd of us as he zoomed about looking for an escape. A couple of people smiled, including ( Read more... )

You are moving for school?
Don't be scared. I love Boston. I have been twice in the last two years.

Yep, I know I shouldn't be scared, but it's nerves I guess, new environment blah blah blah. I have to agree with you on Boston. It's so lovely and small, much cleaner than New York and everyone there walks at a normal non-hyperspeed pace :)

"everyone there walks at a normal non-hyperspeed pace"

But YOU talk at a hyperspeed pace. How can you possibly survive?! :)

I have absolutely no idea. I was up there in June and there was this Texan who spoke so slowly (but with a lovely drawl) that I just totally spaced out. I think she was talking about working at a Dairy Queen or something about cows. And this other girl from Utah had no concept whatsoever of how Brooklyn is part of New York City, but still gets written as Brooklyn in the city spot on a letter. I was like hello a borough?!? I expect I'll have to explain stoops to my midwest roommate as well.

Oh and the worse it walking down the freaking street. I'm like "Can we move it people!" dodging slow people.

I'm going to be absolutely rude and obnoxious up there. I just know it.

Gah, I forgot you were all going to Boston! Don't leave! Don't leave! (Who are you dorming with?)

Okay, but just letting you know, whenever there's a movie involving British people out in theaters you have to come back to NY and drag me out to see it.

If you need to go to sleep, you can always read over The Aeneid ... or my speech if you're looking for something a tad shorter. That might work. :)

My roommate is from a small suburb outside of Chicago. She seems nice enough, but then again I'm like argh, I have to share 12 feet of living space with her?! She also doesn't get my obscure references to tv shows and movies like you do.

And as of this moment I still have not slept yet.
