mental/emotional abuse

I found this somewhere around Lj, and thought I'd be a good idea to post here in case anyone might be curious about it. When I was going through the list, I was surprised how many of them were quite relevant. I think most people don't take mental/emotional abuse as seriously as physical abuse. I'm not a member of this community--I found it through another community I follow-- but I want to you for posting this, and to thank serendipity for bringing me to it. I read this list and realized that most of these apply to my last relationship. I thought I was merely dealing poorly with having been dealt a bad hand by a jerk. This helps to realize that it wasn't my fault.

you're welcome. i'm glad it helped someone. when i first read lists, or articles about this it helped me out emensely. :)
the greatest thing you can do is pass the info on. i really don't think a lot of people are aware of mental/emotional abuse, and how serious it can get either. it's hard when you're in the midst of it to realize it. you question your judgement because there's nothing really concrete to go by.
i'm so glad you've realized it wasn't your fault. i remember i used to take the blame and feel guilty and think a lot of things, that were really out of my hands, were my fault. it's not much fun, :(
