When you see such studies you need to remember that a large fraction of people don't take these things seriously. Also, while I've heard the "Joan of Arc" claim a fair number of times no study that I've ever seen on religious knowledge ever asked that question, so I'm skeptical of the claim. Note also that it is likely that that 10% is just joking around. Among other interesting details about that study apparently atheists generally know more about religion than most other Americans.
