That's child abuse.

Child: So, why did you guys name me Bella/Edward/Jacob/Cullen?
Parents: There was this book about sparkly vampires . . .
Child: . . .

Seriously, do people not have any foresight, common sense, or good taste nowadays?

That's just ow... oww... Cullen isn't even a first name. They could have been subtle and tried Edward. However, it won't be so bad if there are a lot of kids with that name.

Incidentally, I'm curious where this info is from since a few quick google searchs don't turn it up. http://www.babynames.com/Names/Popular/ for example lists Edward as a popular uptrending name but at 65, and doesn't list Cullen at all. http://www.babycenter.com/popularBabyNames.htm?year=2009 has similar results.

Got it from a co-worker.... and didn't think to fact-check.

And yeah, at least Edward and Jacob are acceptable first names... Cullen on the other hand...

Hmm, they say there that they are the fastest rising names, not that they are the most popular. The claim is still appalling but not as incredibly bad.
