If you were to recount to a stranger a weekend in a hotel, where there was collective of about 350 people wearing strange costumes watching cartoons, getting drunk and spending money on comics, models and bits of crap, and then get home and spend the evening trying to recover from being absolutely bloody knackered, they'd probably give you funny

Glad you had fun. I did get a talking Sumomo, and finally met Tokyo Toys people and bought a nice Ignis fig from them!! (and got free Pocky!! mmmmmm)
