Carcinogen Crush (Tyler/Caroline) (2/?)

Set during 1x08 - 162 Candles

Contrary to popular belief Tyler Lockwood was not completely ignorant to everything that happened around him. He could notice some of the smaller details when he chose to put his focus on it. But really most of the time, he just chose to ignore them not unless it was beneficial to him or was just entertaining.

He couldn't however ignore the fact that the girl he'd just spent a good deal of last night with and some of this morning was currently practically throwing herself at Stefan Salvatore's older brother. He couldn't help but be a little insulted at her flighty behavior. He'd known Caroline Forbes since they were little and she could be an outright bitch but this was a little below the belt.

He glared from where he was standing at the pool table at the two. Caroline was being all suggestive with the smiles and body language and Salvatore just seemed to brush her off., leaving her distraught by the looks of it.

He couldn't help but feel triumphant of that. He was Tyler Lockwood, being a dick was his thing like being a bitch was Caroline's thing and Matt's thing was being a general goody-two shoes doormat that had to take care of everyone.

Caroline was sitting at the bar now, drowning down drinks like there was no tomorrow.

That was his cue.

Leaving the pool stick, he made his way through the crush of people, wondering how Stefan Salvatore could possibly know these many people. She didn't take notice of him when he took the empty seat beside her, still finishing another shot of tequila. He ordered one from the bartender and watched as the blonde beside him stared into her empty shot glass like it held the secrets of the universe.

"Hey Tyler," She greeted him almost nonchalantly, not looking up.

"Hey yourself, Forbes." He accepted his drink gladly, taking a grateful sip and enjoyed the burning sensation that followed. Turning back to her, he asked. "Salvatore dumped you?"

She gave a small shrug then gestured for the bartender to keep the alcohol coming. She gulped down another shot and made a silly smile and looked back at him, eyes bright and cheeks flushed. "Story of my life. Apparently, I'm as shallow as a kiddie pool."

He only stared at her as she continued. "And I mean, who could love a person like that? Nobody. Guys want girls that are deep, like abyss deep, you know?"

He gave a small bark of a laugh at the absurdity of her wording. "Look Forbes, I don't know what Salvatore's got you thinking. But not everyone wants a girl that complicated."

She looked at him in confusion, eyebrows furrowing. "Why? Don't you?"

He rolled his eyes. "I'm Tyler Lockwood. I don't do complicated."

She gave a small nod to herself as if taking the information in. She turned back to him, eyes slightly beaming hopefully. "Do you like kiddie pools?"

He gave a smirk. "Love them. I hate deep water, I can't swim."

She laughed at that, her slim shoulders shaking as she giggled uncontrollably. He only watched with a smile on his face wondering why her laugh was so contagious to him. She narrowed her eyes at him in a playfully accusatory manner. "You're lying, we took swimming lessons together. I remember, I pushed you in the pool." She smiled looking proud with herself.

"Oh yes, you're first attempt on my life." He remembered that clearly, an eight year old Caroline annoyed with him with her blonde pigtails and bright pink bathing suit, pushing him into the pool because he wouldn't stop calling her 'Bubbles'. He remembered flailing in the water in panic, sinking and getting saved by their instructor. Caroline later on lying to the man's face, telling him it was all an accident.

She smiled at him drunkenly, already swaying in her seat. "Wanna go somewhere, Ty?" She leaned closer to him, smile suggestive, eyes darkening with desire.

He smiled back just as suggestively. "Where do you plan to go, Forbes?" A thrill went through him as her slim fingers started tracking down the length of his chest, her other hand supporting her head as she was partially leaning on the table.

"I don't know, Tyler. Surprise me."

He smirked at that and got up from his seat, waiting for her to do so and catching her before she fell to the floor with her already jelly legs. "Alright, Forbes, come on." He pulled her into his arms, one arms under knees and the other on her back. Her arms wrapped involuntarily on his neck, her head nestled on his collarbone as she breathed.

He gave a little sigh as she started to doze off already, her eyelids fluttering close. Balancing her in his arms, he headed for the door, knowing that he wasn't getting any tonight.
