Actually, England's version was the original. At some point the Americans changed pin to penny.

Aw I loved this! It was so cute and I loved the connection England made :) Funny how so many American folk songs, rhymes and what not actually had early beginnings in England :)

So many American things really did start off as British things. It's really funny to see how the Americans took them over and changed them after.
