It's your country and it has some of the greatest ideas behind it that have ever surfaced in human history.  We need to keep the spirit of the American Constitution alive as the founding fathers intended.  We're too distracted now.  I call to you: PAY ATTENTION!

When I was on the Democrat's panel for the mock debates at CNU in 2004, I was glad to see the Libertarian's entry into the second debate. They definitely took us off the usual talking points, and to be honest, I found our mock debates had more substance than the real ones. Granted, they arrested the Green and Liberatarian candidates when they showed up for the Presidential debates... never mind ( ... )

Yes, this is the only conservative I've seen who doesn't lean toward the 'sock puppets for the rich' side. I also like Kucinich and Gravel, but Ron Paul has so far stood out in my mind beyond party lines ( ... )

If you read up on it the federal government has restricted states from making more strict regulations regarding EPA standards. If a state such as California wanted higher regulations they could do that. A state that large would have enormous impact on the corporations that work multi-state. Other states would not want to be left out and would change their laws as well. We can create greater change locally than nationally and more importantly it is right according to the constitution. If you let the federal government step over these guidelines then they will undoubtedly walk right past to the bill of rights and take the rest of our Constitution away.

Of course preventing any states from making more restrictive guidelines is a bad thing, something I wholeheartedly disagree with. On the other hand disagreeing with any one policy is a far cry from thinking the entire job of the EPA is pointless. Furthermore the idea that each state would join in with open arms is typical of libertarian wishful thinking. Its kind of like saying if one state enacted civil rights legislation all of them would join the bandwagon. At least with a federal EPA I have a say in what Michigan is putting in the air I will eventually breath.

Furthermore I do not consider the EPA unconstitutional. There are a lot of things the government has legislated that have nothing to do with interstate commerce but pollutants that don't care were we draw our imaginary lines isn't one of them.

But it is true. Look at lotto. The concept is only true though when it brings money. Civil rights cost money, or atleast did.
