Unfortunately, what happens is the group leaders usually feel threatened by the new guys and they squash them like bugs and make sure they have the worst jobs for the next 20 years.
Being different might mean seeing things differently and coming up with new solutions, or just keeping a group meeting on track, but it also is the sign of the outcast and the social shit disturber....
