I toyed with the names of those books forever! Because it was fun/funny (as opposed to the REST of this fic.) And FWIW (did I say this to you already?) originally the psychiatrist was benevolent, if incompetent, and Godric seeing him was a joke. Then he became my villain.

Second, the scene with the secret vampire powers, and "Eric, I can't bear it" - was the original scene of the fic, the first scene I wrote. It changed somewhat, because I added things before it, but I think that's why it resonates with me, it was the heart of the fic. I find it incredibly sad.

Ummmmmm, yeah, you know me and my research. Like, when I spend all those hours and hours looking at sex toy websites... all RESEARCH FOR MY FICS. I don't know anything about psychology, all that stuff is from my reading.

... and so all my experience summarizing topics about which I know nothing pays off. I figure Eric's interested in boats, yes? (Part of his backstory.) So I looked up the America's cup and put some detail in there, I love adding those sorts of details to a fic. I understand the concept but I didn't even know they raced yachts like that until I read it.

PS. I keep waiting for some disgruntled Psych Ph.D. to delurk and tell me it would NEVER happen like this. To which I'd respond: well it did, in MY fic. Seriously, though, MDs and dentists often get arrested for molesting their patients. It's not implausible. In my mind, the doctor goes around the final bend because of the high-grade V that Pam is providing him. Thank GOD ERIC DOESN'T KNOW about that!

And I'm fascinated by your suspicion of the doctor.

I love Pam so much, and it was an interesting head-game for me, trying to imagine the details of how she'd think about Godric.
