I really love how you've combined slashy Godric with tender Godric. It's unlike any Godric fic I've ever read. Usually I just want to read about him and/or hopefully Eric having wild, vocal, unbridled sex with every male human/vampire in a 5 mile radius, but this was a lovelyy change from that.
I j'adore the flashbacks of him and Eric having kinky time in a church. I will never look at a church the same way again. (not that I'm complaining, because I certainly am not.)
Chapter 2 coming soon? :)

I am theoretically writing the Eric/Godric/Carsten threesome if I ever finish it.

1) Sorry, I've forgotten from our discussion -- Finnish is really different from Swedish/Norwegian, right? Like, Carsten wouldn't understand it? Or would he? (Godric would of course.)
2) The artist ... how would Carsten the modern Danish kid think of her? I have no idea who she is. (Part of this is probably determined by Question 1, can he even understand her.)

2) It depends.. I have lots of friends who love her, but jazz (or jazzy pop) isn't that popular among kids atm. But. I think Carsten could be the kind of boy who would find that kind of music quite good in some moments. She is a Finnish jazz singer (the best at the moment, if you ask me) and she is Finnish Swedish and bilingual and she has just released an album in Swedish. And is the singer of this band, so I think Carsten could have heard of her and I don't know, liked her and heard some of her Finnish stuff and googled the lyrics or something? Because he wouldn't understand them otherwise. Or you can pretend the song is sung in English :D

As much as I enjoy your stories from Eric's point of view, there's something about your Godric pov that's more satisfying. I suspect it's because it takes a lot of painstaking effort to create a voice so precise and elusive and the final product is imbued with unusual complexity. You do capture the lofty remove of his advanced age but you manage to mingle it so convincingly with the immediacy of a vampire's appetites.
I wish I'd read the Carsten stories in order. I skipped straight to the kidnapping stories because, wow: my kinks. I'm going to reread it now so I can savor the impact in context.
Also, the Godric parts in "Ropes". The way you caught that complicated little snarl of criss-crossing threads between Godric and Eric = absolutely extraordinary. Eric crying and saying "I can hurt you"--I could barely breathe through it.
You do have an eye for the most charming detail.
