OMIGOSH. I loved this. LOVED this. I laughed at that last bit too. Poor Walter. I guess he was too busy being embarrassed to notice his partner in the crowd XD Awesome work as usual ^^
Haha thank you! It was a whole lot of fun because the whole time Walter's shimmying up this stupid tree to save this stupid cat, his stupid partner's standing off in the distance and watching walter make a fool of himself. XD WALTER IS NOT AMUSED. XD

What do you think Rorschach meant when he said that line "American love like coke in green glass bottles... They don't make them anymore"? When I first read it I actually got the impression he had loved someone, maybe had a family, the American Dream, and then he lost them. Course then I got to where he was arrested and his past was spilled out but it still made me wonder.

alsdkjfiawe THAT LINE.
That line has been haunting my brain since I read it and to this day I have no idea what it means and it drives me nuts. Like, NO idea. I thought that maybe it was signaling that Rorschach, for all his distain for sentimentality, he really, really misses how things were before. Like, even as he's all crazy and shit, he still recognizes what exactly he's lost and how much he wants it back. So I dunno if Ror at this point means romantic love or anything because then I think he was just too lost to be capable of feeling that. But I think American love, to him, could be his longing for the glory days of the 60s where he loved what he did and believed in something and had a best friend and all that.

I find it interesting that he says that when he's talking about walking down the Red Light District. He talks about bein offered French love and Swedish love but "never American love". Which is basically a poetic way of saying "I got hit on by a French Whore and a Swedish Whore". But for a guy who usually refers to women as whores when he's actually talking about being approached by them here he calls it "love". Maybe he's not so turned off to loving romantically. He did seem kinda sad and the drawings have him more hunched over than normal...
Maybe he did love a girl, had planned a future, and then lost it all. Maybe to a crime he couldn't prevent. Or maybe she saw him growin into a monster and left him.
OR MAYBE I SHOULD WRITE A FIC ABOUT THIS!! :D
... Or not. I don't think anyone reads my stuff :(
