I know, I know. I have drabbles to write. But I also have a ginormous creative project for honors and like four essays about stupid things and I'm not doing that either. >.> Instead I'm doing a meme from like a bajillion years ago I stole from someone's journal. I am awesome.
WATCHMEN FANDOM MEME
The first character I fell in love with:
Rorschach. >.> But it was actually a horrified “oh my god why do I like this guy he is such an asswipe D:” kind of like. He had me when he jumped out of Jacobi’s refrigerator >.<;;
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:
Oddly, it’s Dan. Allow me to explain. When I first read Watchmen, I was pretty sure Daniel Dreiberg was the most weak-willed, whiny, self-pitying, spineless coward that I had ever encountered ever. And Laurie baffled me, so their awkward sex scenes weren’t so much funny (like now) as they were extremely annoying. It took me a few more read-throughs to be like “Well, he is still kind of all these things, but he is also well-meaning, kind, and probably the most moral of this pack of dickweeds.” And now I want to marry him. So you know.
The character everyone else loves that I don’t:
The Comedian. D: Lots of people love the Comedian and he just makes me uncomfortable. And this is even taking into account my love for moral ambiguity and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. *fans self *
The character I love that everyone else hates:
>.> You know, I would say Laurie but (1) I think the Laurie hate is subsiding and (2) while I like Laurie, I don’t really love her. I sort of can’t decide if she offends me or not still. Oddly, I think I like fanfiction!Laurie better than canon!Laurie. Mostly because I am pretty sure Alan Moore hates women.
The character I would shag anytime:
Dan. Oh, as if this was a secret. xP
The character I'd want to be like:
Uhh… Hollis, I think. He’s the less messed up of the entire extended cast, I think.
The character I'd slap:
Goddamn you Dr. Manhattan your treatment of time makes me so confused.
A pairing that I love:
Dan/Rorschach. Shocker, I know. Try to contain your surprise.
A pairing that I despise:
Well… I don’t despise any per se, but there is something that inherently squicks me out about Comedian/Rorschach that I can’t explain. Naturally, when I read that huge Vietnam AU I cried for days >.>
Favorite character:
Dan, actually. Though it’s kind of a toss-up between him and Rorschach some days.
5 things I enjoy about the fandom:
1. The people. Seriously, you guys are awesome
2. The giant kinkmeme
3. The fact that some of the best gen stuff comes from said kinkmeme.
4. The “everything goes” attitude of fandom in general
5. The hilarity. And owlbbs.
And 5 that suck:
1. That the giant kinkmeme is slowing down :C
2. This fandom has ruined me for all other fandoms
3. That I left the fandom for a while. It’s really hard to get back into the swing of things! *shakes fist at real life*
4. The talent in here is a little intimidating
