ive done some experimenting with this, and i think what happens is that if you look at a person's profile on facebook while logged in then it will start showing you in their "people you may know" section. About 3 weeks after i started working at my new job some of the other guys i work with started showing up in there. But i had never put anything on my facebook about that new job and i would have ZERO other reasons to be connected to them up to that point.
