Life drawing

Rather than figure drawing, today I did a 2 hour life drawing of a tree in the common area beyond our back yard. The tree assignment is for illustration class. I've got more practice drawing people, of course, so the tree presented some new challenges. From where I was sitting, I didn't see the leaves breaking out into clear masses. I really

I think it's very fun.
I'm going to suggest that you hold your pencil more loosely, a little more relaxedly and work a little more from your wrist. If I'm understanding this result correctly, I suspect that might be a help in portraying sweeping organic shapes.

I am not an artist, but I can just see sitting on one of the lower branches and enjoying the shade while children climb up higher, screaming and laughing.

The leaves kinda remind me of peacock feathers. I like it.
