Rather than figure drawing, today I did a 2 hour life drawing of a tree in the common area beyond our back yard. The tree assignment is for illustration class. I'm going to suggest that you hold your pencil more loosely, a little more relaxedly and work a little more from your wrist. If I'm understanding this result correctly, I suspect that might be a help in portraying sweeping organic shapes.
