Lois is the same as an elephant in a room full of crystals.
Comes like a tornado and slams into the face of Chloe the word that just does not want to hear.

I love that girl!

It 'was very interesting to see Chloe and Ollie out of their situation, "housewife" is I liked to see that, despite a bit of embarrassment, are continuing to discover so many things about each other.
Ollie a bit of jealousy.

Well, great chapter Sera!

Lois is an interesting force and she'll continue to be that way for both Oliver and Chloe.

The dynamic is interesting because when it's just the two of them, it feels so natural. The problem is going outside of that bubble, which is the real test in the next few chapters.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Oh man, do I love Bart and Lois! Great chapter! It's funny, I just reread the earlier chapters yesterday because I'm loving this story so much. I always get excited when you post a new chapter!

Thank you! I am really happy to hear that the story reads well in one sitting so far. I admit, Bart and Lois are probably the characters I struggle with the most, but I'm glad you enjoyed their presence here.

Amazing chapter!
I really loved how Chloe reacted to Ollie's confession. They seem more and more comfortable with each other. It's great.
Can't wait to read more.

Thanks! They really have come a long way in understanding each other's character, which is what allows Chloe to react that way.

Chapter 14's a ways from being done, but I'm thinking I might be able to squeeze it in next weekend.

Baaaaaaaaart! And Victor! Loving these references to the show and finding out how you are translating them into your own universe.

“That’s the funny thing about love; you never know when it’s going to strike you. When that little something simple brings a smile to your face.” Lois let her smile show as Chloe still hadn’t turned around. “A text message, maybe a free coffee...” Nice parallel to their Charade conversation. :)

Chloe is reluctantly accepting gifts and they're going on pseudo-dates! This is (monumentally slow) progress! It's so incredibly sweet how focused Oliver is on her. Not only does he take her to lunch at a place he knows she (and they) will be more comfortable, he apologizes for taking a minute to talk to the owner and then turns off his cell phone. That's almost unheard of these days. ;)

“What... did I ever do to deserve you in my life?” You can just feel his relief and gratitude in that statement. Man, Ollie is so screwed. Hell, they both are. And I loved the exchange with the car keys there at the end. ( ... )

That's a lot of the fun for this story. And I'm not stopping with those two. I have a few more people to introduce.

You weren't kidding though when you said you memorized the scenes. I was kind of hoping for someone to catch the Charade parallel.

Believe it or not, this aligns pretty close to canon as far as timing is concerned. I've packed a lot of bonding in a few months. As for the whole cell phone thing, I know it never happens anymore, but I like to think that when Oliver wants to be off the clock, it would be something he'd do.

The thing is, they know they're both screwed and that's what makes it interesting, but that's also what makes it harder to know what's ahead. I hope you continue to enjoy what I have in store, because we're approaching the part I'm most nervous about.

Thank you! They both have their demons, but considering what Chloe has seen, she knows that Oliver's not the person he thinks he is. It works both ways, so it makes their bond that much stronger, which is important for what lies ahead.
