Strange as it might sound, and as much as I missed Chloe, I sometimes feel like her absence was good for their relationship from a storytelling perspective. One, we saw so much of Chloe holding back in season 9 that there were some who didn't quite buy that she was all in. (I blame this on a tragic lack of screen time for the pairing.) Personally Allison's performance sold it for me, but for the doubters, I think her sacrifice to free Oliver spoke volumes about her feelings while remaining true to her character. Two, I honestly didn't trust the writers enough to not screw up their relationship if she had stuck around. You know they would have loved to shove Tess or Dinah in there because that crew never met a triangle they didn't love. In fact, I think Chloe and Oliver were the only pair that didn't have any triangle drama throughout the whole series (unless you count Chloe's issues as one of the corners). :) It was like their lack of screen time forced them to cut the bullshit and just tell their story.

Anywho, Even telling him the ( ... )

It doesn't sound strange to me at all. Once the series ended, I realized that I actually liked that the smaller amounts of screentime for them because it left something to the imagination... and it forced TPTB out of the usual tropes ( ... )

Loved it.

I am personally not really fan of Chloe's letter to Oliver but I love Oliver's face when Tess read it.

Lovely banner.

Thanks for sharing.

Fave parts :

As she left Watchtower, Oliver sighed as he looked around him, hating that everywhere he looked, he saw her. This place was Watchtower after all.

“I love you, damnit,” he whispered, the words feeling empty when Chloe couldn’t hear them.

He knew what Flagg told him, that she was dead, but this little piece of lab equipment kept his hope alive. If she was alive, she’d come back someday. He just had to wait, and after waiting months to hear her say that she loved him, that was a risk that Oliver could take.

Thanks for the feedback on the fic and the banner! Ara does amazing work.

The letter served its purpose in that scene to me, and I wanted to explore what was going on while she wrote it.

Oliver was really interesting to write in this stage, as he goes through a lot of emotions, and understandably so. I'm glad those moments stood out for you.

Another amazing, beautifully written chapter!

Naww I feel Ollie's pain, nothing's worse than losing the person we love the most. :'(

Salvation? Or Sacrifice? (End Episode S9) & Lazarus had me in tears for Chlollie, I feel my OTP's pain, now your beautiful story has me teary eyed. I need a giant Chlollie victory hug, for everything working out in the end.

What was the name of the song? Fits Chlollie well. :)

*On to reading 'Mine Again*

Thanks for the comment! Song is "Gone" by Black Lab. The entire series is based on song from their album "Passion Leaves a Trace," hence the title.

This was certainly a tough part of their story, but with them, nothing came easily, so it makes the reward that much sweeter.
