I had a good time. The oak dropped one medium sized limb sometime on Saturday during a heavy wind event. All in all, I feel quite lucky. I realize this is like cute snow for most of the country, but I have NEVER seen this much snow in Louisiana.

It was extraordinarily surreal - these pictures don't even look like my house! This was really neat! I would love to have snow - once or twice a year. :)

Wow! Great pics!

My parents lived in New Orleans long, long ago. It snowed the winter they were there, and my mom likes to tell the story of how all the snowmen were decorated with early spring flowers.

I can imagine. I was born and raised in New Orleans and there's been snow there two or three times in my life. Once in 1989 and once on Christmas 2004 - I remember so clearly because my mom was in the hospital. The last time was December 11, 2008. It did not snow in Natchitoches. We got sleet instead. :)

My dog loved the snow and kept making his big tennis ball into a lopsided snow ball.
Some of the snowmen here had Mardi Gras beads.
