Massu: Konban-Masuda-Takahiiiits! This is NEWS’ Masuda Takahisa. How are you all this Friday? Today, September 21, 1927 2nd year of Showa [period], the first fashion show in Japan was held in Ginza’s Mitsukoshi Putin (Mitsukoshi is a designing company). 3 actresses appeared as models. Since people wore kimono’s more before, casual clothes were centered. And during those times, the couture rate of women was 1% throughout. There weren’t many of those who exposed their knees.
I see. So they never exposed their knees, ne? Oh, ‘cause they wear kimono. I see. So maybe it was up to their ankle. I see~. And that was the day it was open. Fashion show’s nice, ne? I also have this dream of going to different places abroad to watch. But I’ve seen Japan’s collections a few times and they’re cool, ne? They’re very particular with the production of the image of different brands. That’s why it seems so fun. I think I want to go abroad to see those too one day.
Now, I would like to introduce some mails.
Massukana-chan: “Good evening.” Good evening. “Which do you like more, remen or hiyashi chuuka? (I don’t know much of the difference, but they’re both cold noodles. I think remen is closer to ramen while hiyashi chuuka has different contents not usually put in an ordinary ramen.) I specifically like the sesame on hiyashi chuuka.
Hiyashi Chuuka or remen… I think remen.
This is Masuda Takahisa on Master Hits from Bayfm keeping you company ‘til 11:30pm.
This week’s NEWS!
So for this week’s news, well recently, I went to eat Italian [food] with the staffs. And it comes in different course and they’re all Italian. And the last one came in a really big serving and we got really full. And we were all like, “That was really good, ne~.” And then we said, “Let’s go one more place!” And on the 2nd place we went, we were talking about a lot of things and we started feeling hungry while talking. And it wasn’t even a long time since we ate. An hour hasn’t probably even passed. We checked the menu and there was curry rice. “Ah! Hmm, this seems good. I think I want curry.” So we ordered curry. We all ate curry. Then after we ate curry, we were like, “Don’t you think we can go more?” so we ate hayashi rice. We ate A LOT. We ate Italian, then we ate curry, then we ate hayashi rice. I had one thing I regretted. I should have eaten hayashi rice earlier. I regretted it. Curry has an after-taste, so it kinda kills the taste of the hayashi rice. When you eat hayashi rice, it’s the same feeling with eating curry, but the taste coming from the beef gets killed when you eat curry first. But it’s the autumn of appetite. So it’s like your appetite doesn’t stop~!
So let’s go with the first song, Miso Soup.
(Song: Miso Soup)
Massu’s Brain Master~!
This is Masuda Takahisa’s MASTER HITS on Bayfm. In this segment, we introduce different quizzes and we’ll exercise our brain by solving them together!
Today’s Brain Master is Maako-chan:
“Massu, it’s nice to meet you. Good evening.” Good evening. “Here’s the question: Among Tokyo, Osaka and Okinawa, there’s a place that lacks sleep. So where is that?”
Among Tokyo, Osaka and Okinawa, there’s a place that lacks sleep. Hmm… Hmm… maybe the city that never sleeps, Shibya/Shinjuku? So Tokyo…? *beep*
Hmm, no. It’s too normal. So Osaka? Lack of sleep? Lack of sleep… Okyoto… Okyoto… Osaka… Okinawa? Lack of sleep… (In this part, he talks about the kanji of the word used for the term ‘lack of sleep’ in Japanese which is nebusoku written as 寝不足)
Lack of sleep is what kind of condition? No sleep… it’s not sleeping, so… it’s hard. If you’re not sleeping, you’re awake. You’re not sleeping. No sleep. Hm? No rest (or fumin fukyuu 不眠不休) Ah! Fumin! Osaka-fumin! *ping-pong!*
This is hard! *laughs* I see~. So you really have to think. This is hard.
“The answer is Osaka. After Tokyo City (or Tokyo-to 東京都), Osaka Prefecture (or Osaka-fu 大阪府) and Okinawa Prefecture and Osaka Prefecture (or Okinawa-ken 沖縄県), you put min (休) at the end. Tokyo-tomin, Osaka-fumin, Okinawa-kenmin; tomin, fumin, kenmin.” So that’s what it is. Osaka-fu then fumin. Which is the place with no sleep.
“Please do your best in the live tour!” Ah, thank you so much!
This was a difficult question, Maako-chan. I used my brain after quite some time. You all can be brain masters as well and send in your questions. I’ll be looking forward to them!
Now, please listen to the next song, Tegomass’ Marui Chikara.
(Song: Marui Chikara)
This is Masuda Takahisa’s Master Hits on Bayfm. I would like to introduce some mails now.
First is from Ryo-chan (OMG NISHIKIDO RYO-CHAN??? O.O HAHAHA): “Your favorite food is gyoza, right? Surely, gyoza is really good, but don’t you get tired of it?”
So there’s a mail like this. Well~… I can’t think of getting tired of gyoza, but I think there’s a particular amount and frequency in eating it. I never really had a moment like I crave for it. Even if I eat too much, I kind of think, “I hope I get hungry soon.” I guess it’s kind of connected there?
Next is from Yuumin-chan: “Massu, good evening. Is the lip cream you usually use (the term used here was more like a ‘necessity’ rather than the ‘one he usually uses’. But oh well. same banana xD) lipstick type or the tube type?”
Uhm, tube type. It’s a tube with a cap. That’s the one I need. The normal tube type.
Next is Midori-chan: “Next month, we’ll be going over to my friend in my hometown to celebrate his new home. So I need an advice. What do you think should I send her that he’ll appreciate? I want something that would be appreciated by his wife too. Please help me think. Thank you.”
I see. Her friend’s new home. Well with NEWS, we send a balance ball and kick it. We also send champagne and open it. We also work out. (HAHAHAHA he’s talking about what they did in Shige’s house LOLOL) Hmm, new home… so you’re visiting. But I think asking would be good. Like, “I want to give you something to celebrate, but is there anything that you want for your new home?” then maybe you can give something that way. And since he has a wife, maybe you can give something like wine glasses, mugs. Maybe something like that. Well I, myself, like cups. But they can use it together also and it’s not that much of a hassle. I think cups are good. Yeah… ‘Cause they’ll be like, “What the…” if you bring them something like a big plant. Maybe a mug or cup set will be nice. I think that would be good. Mugs or glass sets. Or a nice glass. That’s nice.
Next is Chocola-chan: “This is sudden, but I have a question. What do guys like as birthday presents?”
I wonder~… I think mug cups (HAHAHA WTH). Well, at least that’s for me. Maybe a mug or a nice glass. If I receive those, I’d be happy. I think I’d give them as gifts too. It would be so surprising if you suddenly come in with a really big plant and you’ll be like “What the heck!” *laughing* I wonder~… I think mug cups. *laughs* (HAHAHA obviously no more answers he can think of) I think T-shirts are good too. Yeah, T-shirts. *laughs*
Next is Ayamassu-chan: “Massu, good evening.” Good evening. “I have a question~. I heard you go to karaoke a lot. When you sing in the karaoke, how much echo do you usually create?”
Hmm, I don’t go to karaoke that much, though. Hmm, it’s a bit hard echoing in the karaoke, ne? But if you practice, the echo would be 0. It’s like it would be more of your natural voice, so if you make a mistake a bit, it’ll be noticeable. But I think the echo like the ones in the bathroom is really nice. I wonder how much… maybe… this much? (Then he demonstrated it a bit) I hope you understood it somehow? It’s a bit softer. But when you do too much, it might be a bit shaky, so maybe make it a bit softer. But I think it’ll be lessened with practice.
Next is Omanjuu Kouhai-chan: “Massu, good evening.” Good evening. “Our rice field is almost reaping. We were able to make a lot of rice! Which do you like more, rice or wheat?”
How the wheat spreads is really awesome, but if I were asked rice or wheat, I think rice. I like the single deliverables basically. Rice is good, ne~? Last time in Niigata, we had really good rice. It was a novice, but it was really good. Yeah, it was good. There are different side dishes. You can have curry rice too. I think it’s good.
So the next song, ‘Ai wa Simple na Curry Rice’.
(Song: Ai wa Simple na Curry Rice)
