Massu: Konban-Masuda-Takahiiiiits! This is NEWS’ Masuda Takahisa. How are you all this Friday evening?
It’s been 8 years since this radio program started. *claps* It started on April 1, 2005 and we are now entering the 9th year. I’m very happy. And after sleeping a few more nights, maybe I’ll be saying we’re in the 10th year? I’m very happy~. It’s our 9th year and this is the 416th time today. I would like to do until at most 500 times. But maybe we’ll go over 500 times. And then maybe on the 500 something-something-th time (he was so cute when he said this ;__;), maybe a new one will come? I want to keep going on like this.
In 2005, it was the period of George Walker Bush and Exposition of Global Harmony. Ah, the one with Morizou and Kikkoro, ne? (Note: Morizou and Kikkoro is the mascot character of Aichi Prefecture promoting the EXPO). And also, Lily Franky’s ‘Tokyo Tower’ or known as ‘Deep Impact’ in English and ‘Steam Oven’ were released. I see~… but Deep Impact seems new, ne? I see~…
Well now that we’re in our 9th year, I would like to make the content of this program more interesting, so please continue supporting us.
Now, I would like to introduce some mails. First is from Pudding-chan: “Massu, good evening!” Good evening! “Do you like eating or drinking yogurt?”
That’s from Pudding-chan. Maybe she likes pudding? If it’s yogurt, hmmm… eating or drinking…? I think drinking it. Drinking.

This week’s NEWS!
For this week’s NEWS, MASTER HITS is on its 9th year! I am very happy. Thank you so much! NEWS was formed about 10 years ago, then this program started about 1 year after our measure debut, I guess? Johnny-san was like telling Tegoshi, “Your singing voice is really nice.” And he told me, “Your voice is interesting.” Then Tegomass was formed. Then NEWS came out. Shortly after that, I was given a radio job. At first, I was thinking about how I should speak, like my voice. It’s the same with when singing, but of course, it’s how you speak in this case. I was really happy when I was told, “You’re going to be a radio personality.” And I was really thankful to Johnny-san that he gave me this kind of work. So as gratitude, I wanted to do my best so I wanted to take care of my voice the most in NEWS. Then everyone else got a radio job too. I was like, “Oh, everyone’s gonna do radio too?” *laughs* (I felt that he was a bit disappointed by his tone HAHA awwwww!)
So in April 1 of 2005, we started with this radio program. But on March 16, NEWS’ third single “Cherish” was released. So let’s go back to this time and tralala (that’s how it kind of sounded to me because he was speaking gibberish xDD). Please listen to the next song, NEWS’ Cherish.

Massu’s Brain Master~!
This is Masuda Takahisa’s MASTER HITS brought to you by Bayfm. In this segment, we will be introducing different quizzes and puzzles and we’ll exercise our brain together.
Today’s Brain Master is Mon-chan. “Massu, good evening.” Good evening. “This is sudden but here’s a question. A turtle, camel and rhinoceros went shopping together. What did the 3 of them tell the salesperson about what they wanted? Hint: Say all 3 of their names aloud.”
*Note: The Japanese for ‘turtle’, ‘camel’ and ‘rhinoceros’ is ‘kame’ (亀), ‘rakuda’ (ラクダ), and ‘sai’ (サイ).
“Give me…” (‘kudasai’ or ‘ください’). “Give me ‘kuda’”? *beep*
‘Raku’… They probably went to a clothing shop and said ‘Rakku da!’ (“Rock”). *beep* (HAHAHA THIS ANSWER WAS SO WEIRD)
[He said something in this part almost the same with the previous answer] *beep* What kind of tension is this? *laughs*
‘Kame’… Hm? It says here 3 of them, so this can refer to people? Is this okay? Hmmm, a turtle, camel and rhinoceros went shopping together, right? Then what did they tell the salesperson?
The turtle… Coke? The turtle asked for coke? *beep*The two of them ordered beer, but only one ordered coke? The turtle? *beep*
*reads the hint again*
Kame… rakuda… sai… kame… rakuda… sai…
“Can I have a camera?” (‘Camera kudasai’)
*Pingpooong!*
*laughs*This is interesting!
“The correct answer is camera. If you say their names spontaneously in order, it becomes ‘Camera kudasai’. Were you able to get it?” This is cool! Whoaaa! I’ll use this!

Now, I would like to introduce some mails. First is from Hina-chan: “I’m a new 3rd year middle school student in love with Massu. I noticed that ever since I started liking you, my casual clothes became so loud. Now that it’s loud, I should make it scream, right?”
I’m very happy. My clothes aren’t that loud, is it? (YOU THINK???) Well, if people ask me if my clothes are loud or not, they are, but it makes me want to tell them that they’re not. But maybe I have certain shapes I like. For example, I like bigger ones. And there are certain parts where I want it fit, but there are parts I don’t like it fit. It looks loud, but I like simpler colors. But I don’t think it’s that loud. But I think it’s the individuality. It’s nice to wear something not everyone likes to wear. I think you’ll like yourself more when you like something others think are not nice. I wonder if you’ll understand this feeling? It’s like wearing clothes that everyone finds weird, but you like wearing those. And when everyone likes, you’ll be like, “Huh? Really? I wonder if my clothes today are okay?” It’s the other way around. It’s like hiding skin with clothes. I hope you understood?
Next is from Manami-chan: “Massu, good evening.” Good evening. “We had yakiniku for dinner last night. While we were all having fun frying beef on the table, my little sister came to me and said, ‘Ne, ne~ do you know what Car Maser’s are?’ I was like, “Don’t you mean Maser Car? (Maserati)” and we all laughed so hard. Did you ever experience something like this?”
So it’s about the Maser Car. Well if it’s about making a mistake on saying something. Well it’s something I learned on the radio. Normally, there are songs that are like, “(artist) featuring (artist), right? I use to say it like, “(artist) futuring (artist)” (his pronunciation emphasized the ‘a’ on the ‘featuring’). Then it was like, “No, it’s ‘featuring’.” Like ‘feature’, then ‘(artist) featuring (artist)’. So it was very embarrassing, ne? I experienced that. Another one is the artist B’z. I use to say it as ‘biizu’ but it’s actually ‘beez’, right? Yeah, and another one is in MASTER HITS, probably when I was just starting, on the email, there’s the ‘dot’ and if you ask if it’s ‘dotto’ or ‘dot’, it’s ‘dot’ in English, but it was matching with how I say it. (What?? xD) I guess that’s all? In short, I guess it’s like whether it’s ‘Te↑-go-shi’ or ‘Te-go-shi ↑’ (referring to the stress) But I’ll leave that up to you.
Next is from Sakiko-chan. “I’ve seen Alice in Wonderland! What is the most recent movie that you’ve seen?”
I think it’s Ted. My friend was like, “I’ve seen Ted!” and showed me the picture of the teddy bear. So I thought I had to watch it right away. (HAHA SO CUUUTE) Ted was good! But the points I laugh at were different from all the others and I was like, “Eh…?” but it was nice. I think it’s not something to really recommend for girls…? *laughs* But it was really funny, so I hope you check it out.
Next is Ayaneeru-chan. “I’ve been thinking since before that when you start talking about mini 4 wheel-drive, you talk so straight and you don’t even stutter, ne? (lol) Please do your best to not stutter also when you’re talking about other things aside from mini 4WD. (lol) I’m looking forward to the result of the next Masuda Cup (his mini 4WD tournament) ☆”
What’s this… ? This made me a little… ugh. (HAHAHA AWWW.) Is this for respect? (laughs) Ahhh, I don’t stutter when I talk about 4WD, but I stutter when I talk about something else. So it’s like, “Please do your best.” And it says here, “I’m very excited for the result of the Masuda Cup ☆” It feels like she knows the result already and she’s like, “You’ve never gotten first yet, right?” Ayaneeru-chan, ne? Well I don’t usually stutter, but there are times that I can go through with it without having anyone to notice. *laughs* But since I’m in my 9th year as a radio personality, I’ll do my best to not stutter. So you, Ayaneeru-chan, I hope you apologize~ sometime… PUPUPU! (He was laughing here. HAHAHAHA WTH) *laughs*

Well lately, I’ve been trying to be in my character for Strange Fruits, so I’ve been building up my body so I’ve been going to the gym and pool quite a lot. I think I talked about this before, but I’ve been swimming 4km. 4km is about 80 lapses in a 25 meter pool. And I think I’ve talked about this before that maybe 100 lapses in 5km is cooler. Well, I did 5km recently. Until the 4th km, I swam normally. I got up, drank water, did some stretching and rested for about 10 minutes. Then I wanted to go back to swimming, so I went back to the pool. But the remaining 500m from the 4th km felt so long, so I got so lazy to do like the last 500m and I only felt like doing 100m. I was like, “Is it okay to do only 4km and 100m?” (HAHAHA MASSU PROBLEMS) My heart sank and I was like, “I don’t think I can do this.” But somehow, I was able to do it. So after about 10 lapses, 4km and 500m, I was thinking if that was enough. My shoulders were getting stiff. But I was like, “No. I’ve gone this far! So 5km!” So I put my tension up. I swam 5km. I was swimming alone. So when I finished, I pretended to tiptoe and go like “YEEEEEEY! 5KM!!” So I got to swim 5km recently. And coincidentally, I got to eat out with a [married] couple I’m really close to (his close friend and his wife) that the same day. So I was talking about getting to swim and I’ve been so into it lately. And I was like, “I got to swim a lot today!” and stuff like that. And the wife use to be a swimmer when she was younger. So I was talking like, “I’ve been going to the pool a lot lately. I’ve been swimming 5km! It was okay at the first 4km, but it was tough on the last 1km!” and she goes, “I use to go to the pool a lot too before.” *laughs* “Oh, is that so!?” And I suddenly felt so small. (Awww xD) And I got to hear a lot from her and she use to do 5km in the morning and 5km in the evening, so she was like, “I use to swim 10km normally.” I felt so small. Really chibi Massu. (HAHA SO CUUUTE!) That was bad, ne~? *laughs* (He was like, “FU FU FU FU FU” HAHA) Something like that happened, but I would like to continue swimming 5km~!
