3. The PATRIOT Act allows for increased scrutiny of incoming persons. Now visitors to the states are fingerprinted and compared to a database of known terrorists.

- Because the liberties of non-citizens do not matter. I'm sure every innocent Abdul-Mohamed who was strip searched and humiliated because "well, by golly, he sure looked like a terrorist" is thanking you, good president. I can just hear the flight attendants now: " Thank you for flying with us and welcome to the United States. If you are from any of these nations, please remove your shoes, empty four pockets, and prepare for a body cavity search upon disembarkment. Once again, thank you for flying X airlines."

Racial profiling works.....

2. It (PATRIOT Act) "removes the barriers" that prevent different branches of government from sharing information and taking action.

-Oh, you must mean those silly little checks and balances. They were outdated anyway. The Patriot Act eliminates the need for a court order in some cases and increases the powers of federal investigative forces. Delayed notification, roving wiretaps, data mining; these powers and more are granted to the fed gov courtesy of the patriot act.

Hey, now, removing the barriers is a good thing. The problem comes in labeling any of those a barrier to communication between government branches. Except for the first, they aren't even things that happen between gov't branches.
