Novel Characters

So, I just realized that I haven't mentioned anything too specific about my novel. I've been talking about it without actually talking about it. So let's start at the beginning:

I wanted to write a YA supernatural romance novel. Why? Because that's what I read and I love it so I decided to make my own. You may say that there are too many of these books already out there and you may be right, but I hope that mine is unique and special in a way that separates it from the others.

I started with the main character Bianca who is a typical teenage girl going through a really rough time. Something pretty traumatic happened to her and because of that, she's had to mature and become an adult too early. In doing so, she also lost a part of herself in the sense that she's become a pushover. She has lost the ability to stand up for herself and for what she wants.

Next is Bianca's best friend Lexi. She and Lexi are more like sisters than friends. They grew up together, but unfortunately, Lexi wasn't there when Bianca needed her the most. While Lexi may be there for her now, it might be too late. Lexi is outgoing, enthusiastic and charismatic but she's also insecure and jealous. She loves Bianca but also wishes that she could be her. But at the same time, she sees what Bianca's going through and knows that she doesn't really want Bianca's life. She tries to help her friend; tries to be there for her, but Bianca isn't letting her in.

Then there are the two love interests: Hayden and Thomas. They both transfer into the school at the same time. They know each other and hate each other and somehow manage to drag Bianca into their rivalry, which actually serves to help Bianca take her mind off her own life. However, there's more to their hatred than meets the eye. Both boys are hiding something and Bianca becomes entwined in their fight as she tries to discover their secrets.
