I've sold most of my video games recently and it's strange because rather than feel bad about it like I would have at one point , I'm just glad that I have some cash in my wallet...is this what growing up feels like, constant desperation for cash

Yes, exactly. And that is why you build something so you don’t have to live in fear of money. Because that just means someone else holds the purse strings.

you'll only be desperate for cash if you're stupid about how you use what you get. i would suggest finding a roommate with a predictable schedule, like a student with a part-time job that doesn't want to live in the dorms. there's a lot of people i that get places in tempe that are taken care of by their parents or whatever when they start doing the college thing, so that could be used to your advantage.
