Sweet, I've been eying that de Lint myself. And considering reading him again in general, just to get back to some of the fundamentals of mythic/urban fantasy. :)

It's funny thinking of anyone I discovered in my lifetime as someone who started something, but he did. I've disliked the preachiness that's colored some of his later work, but when he's on, he's still compelling. And I love Newford.

The sad part? There are editors at large publishing houses who insist that de Lint is not an urban fantasy writer. :-\

That's...odd. I think we should call the currently trending urban fantasy fantasy horror. It's got all the monsters, but only half the scare.
