thank you lynn for writing such a great entry!! it's so refreshing to find someone who 1) agrees with what i think and 2) is brave enough to say it. your first part about obesity was really good...i mean, if people are overweight, they need to solve it themselves and not try to get the whole fing govt and country to pity them. and as far as abortion goes, i agree with what you had to say and am really glad you had the guts to write it. <3 stephy
Thanks Jack-a-line!! That shampoo thing is a good idea. I think i will sue tresemee!! I completely understood the thing about raising children. You mean having people who can't handle the baby will only lead to some sort of emotional damage to the child, right?
OMG here's the next big thing- the gov't will have mandatory parent counseling! once the media starts to talk about the growing number of children with mental disorders and how they are a threat to our prosperity, just you wait...
that was quite the thought-provoking entry. i applaud on you for voicing your opinions so well, that's something i don't think i'll ever quite be able to master. even though i don't totally agree with you on everything, you succeeding in grabbing my attention and shaking up my current beliefs - for a while now i've been trying to figure out my stand on things, and i really admire people like you who know what they believe and hold their roots in the ground in all the confusion. meanwhile, i'm still trying to figure out where plant myself. that was a dumb metaphor. -julietttttte
not everone has to believe the same things... and people change and so should beliefs as new information comes in and new experience and wisdom is acquired, which is a reason why i really liked john kerry. he wasn't afraid to change his opinion. but anyway, that's not the point! the point is, don't be too rigid and think that you have to have all the right answers right now. <3
Be idealistic. Because we are young, and (cliche) the future. The more idealistic we are, the better off we'll be. It means that, damnit, we will FIGHT for change. Everyone has their moment, and I think out generation can prove itself. Everything always moves forward. There might be a step or two backwards, but we'll follow it with three forward. We are the voice of what we want. Things can't stay the same forever; culture has never been stagnant. We have to have strong convictions and really believe in what we have to say. We have to be attractive, have a sense of humor, be intelligent, and most of all, be compassionate. It can and will be our turn, because we are the movers and shakers of this world forever, it seems.
well that was empowering!! too bad i think this country isn't really worth fighting for and i'm going to move as soon as i can. it's too big and corrput for my taste. haha but change can be fought for wherever one lives, and just like i said to christiana, my views will change and maybe i won't want to move when im older, more likely i just won't be able to afford it...
That does make me feel better about my idealism. maybe it's not so bad after all!
